Origin player data and revenue 2019-2020(pre-steam)

This post was made after a discussion I had with someone to try and reason with them that steam data isn't useful because the game wasn't on steam for 1.5 years and the data from origin/EA app isn't readily available so to make statements and headlines like this article https://www.dualshockers.com/apex-legends-new-highest-player-count/ is at the very least misleading and, in my opinion, wrong. My reasoning is apex legends reached 50 million players 1 month into release and it took 2 years to reach 100 million, so to me this means the actual highest revenue and player numbers are in this first month, makes sense right? So anyone who says "player numbers are down and revenue is down in season 17 so game =bad" this statement is meaningless because its been true since march of 2019. Yes season 17 is bad but give actual logical reasoning instead of a statement that has been true for 4.5 years.

So can anyone help me find player data(unique/concurrent/monthly) and revenue(other than quarterly releases that don't give info about just apex legends) from 2019-2020? The only data I've found is from steam and the game wasn't on steam in 2019-2020(pre november) and this data isn't useful in finding out all time revenue and player numbers.

These are the posts  that hint at data but i can't find a source anywhere. do they just not show the data and if so have they said why?

  • @SKYDOGIE The steam charts go back to Nov 2020 for me. I don't think you will ever find real data. No other platforms publish that data. The reason steam is quoted is because it is the only data people have to see a trend. And if you look at the current numbers, player count on steam is less than last year, which is odd as year over year usually goes up. And average player count went down quite a bit the last two months. The whole Apex is dying is quite dramatic though. It definately is not. The ranked tweaks incoming will make it take longer for people to reach masters (way more than 1% still will btw). This means more engagement daily, which is what matters for revenue.
