Pathfinder Hitbox
Hey there, Yesterday I really had a problem with pathfinders hitbox. I know his hitbox got fixed in one of the last patches, but now it’s like shooting a Blade of Grass. also I have seen many clip...
Pathfinders hitbox should be reworked. I have shot shotguns at him at point blank range and to no avail he’s still not getting hit. I know players won’t want it changed because they enjoy not getting hit but to others I believe it should be fixed. If EA can fix Gibraltar and Caustic they should fix Pathfinder as well.
Thank you

Pathfinders original hitbox was significantly bigger than his model, especially around the legs and hips.
I suspect that originally a pixel-perfect hitbox was designed to suit the fattest legendary skin and then applied to all the models. Resulting in the old videos we saw of shots hitting path even when they were aimed at thin-air nearby him.
They changed to a hitbox more commensurate with the slender models but somehow screwed up around the legs and hips leaving small holes. For a while things werent too bad. The issue has become more and more of a problem the more people have legendary skins, as these models have the most unhittable material. This is where the incorrect assumption about it becoming EVEN HARDER to hit path as time has gone on has come from. The problem is the same as it always was after the initial hitbox change, but more are playing path and more are using the bad models.
What needs to happen is either pathfinder has 2+ hitboxes as the legendary skins are TOO different to the base model for a single hitbox to work, or the legendary models need to be removed/changed.
Obviously they wont remove them as theyre assets that have already been sold and there would be an outcry. I dont think they will devote the resources to creating and implementing 2 separate hitboxes, and if they did no one would use the fat skins as they would be at a disadvantage.
So what I fear theyre going to do is revert to the old terrible hitbox and give us the dmg reduction from gib/caustic. Which is a terrible mistake because unless they remove aesthetic artefacts like the wire spools on his shoulders - people still think theyre hitting something when theyre not. So the whines of "you cant hit his head/arms/soul/sister" will still be there along with a new complaint "hes too tanky".
They've painted themselves into a corner by accepting the fat models from the art dept and selling them.
