Penalty for game crashing should end

To be honest, i'm really bored of being put on penalty (and to loose RP) for the game when it CRASHES and when i rejoin i get "error code leaf".

If the game isn't stable, dont put penalties.

  • @DieInPieces_ITA Also if I may add, you should get a point refund (ranked) if your teammate has a red footprint, even if they are trying to get back in, you are still down a teammate, just like when someone regularly ditches.
  • Most of the time these types of disconnects are caused by something the user has to resolve, the punishment is meant to stimulate you to troubleshoot said issue.

After all, teammates are still at a disadvantage with your disconnect.

If developers are able to create a system that detects unintentional crashing then they can actually already fix the crashing issue itself.

So there's no need for such a system if they could fix the core issue at hand.

  • This is patently false. Virtually all Code Leaf, Code Net, etc. problems are caused on the Apex Legends server side, not the user's side.

Eating a 10-minute penalty for something caused by the game is poor design. When it happens, I simply go and play something else. Good job EA, I guess.

This happened to me several times today with Apex, yet 0 times with any other website, game or video. The humorous thing is that leaver penalties don't generally even work, leading either to people killing themselves on purpose, AFKing or leaving anyway.

These error codes are nowadays mostly caused by issues on the network route (ISP-wise)

Something that can be resolved by the own player.

I'm sure there are plenty of valid cases where the servers themselves have been acting up to cause this... though, that would result in the entire lobby getting disconnected, right?

Though again, if they can detect it then they can fix it, so it would be more logical to fix the core issue rather than making a detection system for it.

@LaughingSharko If all the issues are server side, why do I rarely have them? Shouldn't the whole lobby see them together?
  • @hayhor 1. I'm pretty sure many players in the lobby do get DC'd at the same time. When it happened the other day, I got put in a group with a player from the previous match that was interrupted, meaning they were also booted.

    2. I didn't say it happened to me constantly. It has been prevalent since season 15 launched, though.

Are all these people having this problem because of their setup? Or is it Apex's problem?

    4. If all the issues are client side, why do I never have them with any other MMO or online game? Why can I play OW2 seamlessly for hours on end? Destiny 2? Warframe? Why is it only Apex that freezes and crashes after patches?
