Permanent lag every game
Starting yesterday and into today, every single game i play has ridiculous lag without fail Im on ps4 and this has never happened to me before but i see no reason why it started and not sure if its ...
@brokencasanova If the issue is a local one, then local steps need to be taken. We're not dismissing the idea that there may be server-side issues - they do happen - but equally the possibility of there being a local or network issue shouldn't be ignored.
There are definitely times when we'll get a huge wave of reports for a game and it'll be clear that it's not a local issue, but this doesn't seem to be one of them.
However that also doesn't mean that there isn't an issue on our end, and having sample accounts who have verified that troubleshooting is ineffective will be very helpful, if that's the case.
@EA_David That seems incredibly unlikely, as I can barely find anything with an EA response that's legitimately problem solving. I built an entirely new PC specifically to play this game on release and have had nothing but problems since Day 1, whether it's the audio having a near 30 second delay, or players slideshow teleporting across the screen because for some reason the 42 ping, 0% packet loss server I'm playing on says my connection is bad. I can play over a dozen online games at any point in this week and not have a problem until I try and play Apex, and me having to go into my command console, router settings, game properties and forcibly tweak something that I shouldn't have to do in the first place is *, plain and simple. This game is unplayable for too large of a portion of people, for everyone at EA to just kick back and ask "Well did you make sure your computer is plugged in?" I'd rather be on hold with Dell for 12 hours then to be treated like we've never played any sort of online game before. This is a joke.
Our intention is never to point a finger at the player as the root of the problem and like @EA_David touched up on we want to rule out any local issues which can help us identify the issue easier if it's coming from our end. This is all part of the info gathering process, but I can see how my previous replies can always be interpreted like that.
If you're on PC I've seen strange workarounds like this one where making a slight change in Killer Control Center eliminated the lag and rubberbanding. I've seen players fix lag or trouble connecting by updating the firmware in their router or by even switching to bridge mode after they were constantly getting code errors.
Some routers stay in warehouses for a while or have certain ports closed off by default. We have them listed in the article I replied on the previous page if it's something you haven't taken a look into yet if all other workaround fixes here aren't eliminating the lag.
We're here to troubleshoot if you're down and always appreciate any help from the community in the process. 👍
