my power has been out since at least 3 a.m Saturday, and on top of my whole fridge being spoiled and the house being cold and boring. I will miss the spitfire skin ☹️ can this event be extended past these storms ?

@Ninjaskittlz That stinks about your power. The event does go until next week. Hopefully assuming your power gets turned back on you can get some time to finish.

@Koochi-Q Hey now, you crossed a line there... I will say, 15 of the worlds top 20 colleges are in the US...It's honestly happening because of unusual weather patterns that certain areas normally don't receive. The infrastructure is not designed to handle it. It would be like Europe being hit with a typhoon.. Europes infrastructure is not designed for that type of weather so it would create major problems.

@Koochi-Q I don't think they can.. This is state wide outages, they would have to travel hundreds of miles to find power.

We had a storm like that here nearly 20 years ago. Only we got like a foot of snow & lots of ice too. So much that branches were breaking off trees & weighing down the power lines. Power was out state wide. 8 states sent electric crews to help. Our power was out maybe a week.
What's happening in TX reminds me to invest more in renewable energy so that I don't have to depend on a city power grid. The former mayor of one TX city told their citizens the city owes them nothing & to figure it out smh.

So mining 1 bitcoins consume 1 year electric usage of 90,000 houses !
