@Horizenslayer23 Being pred is about 3 things- 1)Ability. If you aren't cracked you won't be a pred. 2)Pred level friends to stack with. No one maintains pred without being in a 3 stack. 3)Time. Because pred is reserved for the top 750 and is based on increasing point levels it becomes a product of playing as much as possible.
Unfortunately a better way to rank players would be to show them their calculated mmr as a skill level. But that doesn't give people a thing to grind to.

I have to agree with @hayhor here.
You def need skills. If you can make plat1 or D4 on your own (soloQ) you should be able to make master or Pred if you 3stack with players of like skill.
To make Pred and maintain it you will have to have a dedicated 3stack.
The time investment to make Pred is no small matter and in order to maintain the rank you would have to keep investing time.
The time investment in ranked play is what keeps a lot of players in Gold to Diamond because they have real lives and cannot make the time dedication even though they may have the skill.
This is my problem as well, I just do not have that amount of free time to invest in that huge grind, so when I do decide to dedicate to ranked play I usually end up in Gold /Plat.
The choice of input device has almost no effect on the grind to pred. Time to play, good teammates, and skill are the biggest factors.
