The verdict is in: Developer Follow-up: Dropships in Ranked

First things first, thanks to the devs for responding to the mayhem.

After reading the devs response I agree with reverting back to the dropship, if that's what the community desires as a whole.

I figured that the Ranked player population would decrease "short-term". I was betting on comp-minded players returning to the game and more comp-minded new players would start to play the game, over time.

Some players have mentioned that the introduction of Wildcard may have caused a decrease of players in Ranked. I'm curious to know if this is the case. Because if it is I don't think the Ranked population decrease warranted the removal of dropzones. If previous Ranked super casual players decided to play Wildcard or Pubs primarily that's a good thing. Ranked should only appeal to comp-minded players, IMO.

Overall, if the Ranked population decrease is effecting revenue, I understand the revert. Get that money, honey!!!! During the last two seasons I contributed $130. So I did my part.

It's sad I know man, You and I seem to want the same thing out of our Apex Ranked experience. I posted a similar point of view a week or so ago with a lot of the thoughts about ranked and its history. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that casuals and their wallets run this game, people who want a more competitive style of play in a "competitive" mode in ranked is not happening. Players want to int/ape their brains out and they are the majority. I suggested a set of toruneys or a new ALGS mode for those of us who want to experience real end games. I wish we could find a happy medium, but the Devs made that post you referred to and the numbers speak for themselves. Being in the minority sucks eggs man, I don't see a relief any time soon. As you said..." They won" and that means unfortunately we Lost.
