Rampart Playstyle
Hi All,
I am Rampart main and thought I would share how I like to play her and would also like to know how others play her.
I'm not the best Rampart by far, but from what I've encountered with other ramparts I probably rate above average.
When I use her I have found she best plays with teams that keep close and follow her. But because of her mobility this is usually not the case so other legends charge in front of her.
So when I play her I will lead the team to areas so I am the first into a fight and able to put down walls for my team at the first sight or sound of an enemy.
I would set up walls always first as starting position but also a fall back position. So if we get into trouble we have an escape route - If the team is likely to chase we have amped walls setup for the retreat, which I will continue to place if needed to cover the retreat. Including the use of Sheila to discourage the chase.
Offensively I play Rampart by leading the charge but you have to play like any other character, with good gun skill and movement. I try to use Sheila where possible to get good damage at the start without getting damaged myself. Even a quick burst sometimes can do 80 damage and if I can spread this across the team I will have most the team popping batts and not firing at us for a second. Long enough so I can advance and place more walls.
I try to think of Ramaprt as a mobile fortress when I play her, picking up walls and repositioning them as the fight evolves, but always with your team in mind as well as where the enemy might come from.
Sometimes when I'm in fights I might spend more time placing walls for my team than actually shooting so they can have the benefit, but this isn't always a bad thing.
With Rampart I think the shy, timid teams are bolstered by the amped walls, so if they know Rampart has their back, they will advance with you. Unlike other legends that like to enter the void. 😅.
I guess when Rampart quotes "she is looking out" I like to portray that in her Playstyle.
