Whats wrong with that approach ? Respawn clearly wanted it that way (i guess it was extensively tested by specialists ... lol)
Now you have 3 options (if your account doesnt get praised by the MM nor the pointsystem and you arent in a position to have a nice triple stack every time you want to play):
⚽ stay with your team of "concrete boots" (bcs the matchmaking still doesnt do competitive matchups, at least not for some of us) and you die place <10 and get minus 35 to 25 Points bcs hotdropharry thought of himself as John Rambo. YOu can even wipe out neary half the lobby and still get minus points
🏈 you are lucky to get a working team and get a WIN with around 300 points (while others get multiple thousands, but the system seems to prefer some people over others ... since its not really transparent how those multiple thousand points are based on).
🏀 you abandon the team at drop, rat yourself to at least 5th-2nd place which will give you a secure 100-180 LP every time, without having to tilt on your mates bcs they over-commited in a lobby where they dont belong in the 1st place ... for queue-times sake.
Now i ask you, are those 1XX Points more for Option Nr. 2 compared to Option No 3 worth the risk ? I dont think so ...
an update about this , i spent Thursday and Friday grinding rank only i think i spent 12 to 16 hours in total and played 0 pubs matches .
unfortunately i couldn't do the only rat way as i was playing with randoms but the deal was that when things go down the hill one of us should run and hide.
it's more difficult as it sounds.
the downside of this new system that the lobbies are fully mixed , means when i was in silver i still was playing against stacks of current preds,diamonds and masters.
actually i never seen more stacks as this much with the old system , the funny thing that Respawn said the new system can tell who is playing solo and try not to match with full stacks and only with solo vs duos but no solo vs trios.
the pros of this , even when playing against current preds with silver and gold teammates i was still able to get some points.
i have mixed feelings about this system but to be honest i personally feel more engaged and happy about it , it's not as frustrating as the previous one which was a nightmare.
i think the system will settle it self after in a week or so , we just have to wait .
yes it might need little more tweaking but i was getting positive feed back about it and same notes from from friends.
@hayhor I don't think it's a question of badges proving who is better any more. Last season we had pre made pred teams wiping out golds and plats as cannon fodder in their lobbies, using that to falsely keep their place on the tables. That really did not prove their worth and that system needed to go.
Hopefully they will now end up in lobbies of a similar standard to their own and have to work for their end of season pred placement, where I think the rank emphasis will now change to. You will certainly know who are the better players by their end of season placement in the tables, as it should be and is in most compedative sports.
There are many different playing styles and it is important that ordinary players in the community have fun and get a sense of achievement imo, rather than just being cannon fodder.
Past badges are worth what they were in the season they were awarded and still are a valid award for that point in time.
From my expiriance: I started with the 10 classification rounds, in a 3 man party we were all at diamond before reset. We tried normal playing at start because we didn't know how they give points, what i saw was that whille my team mates were doing the kills and I was suporting the LP where not the same, they got more LP and I could't understand why, we went on for some games then changed playstile to go for placement with scan zone and try to keep position went better with placement but points for me were still low maybe something extra for ability ? I got rookie 2 while mate 2 got bronz 2 and mate 3 silver 3.
Now we are at the point that I'm plat 2 while mate 2 is at plat 4 and mate 3 is diamond 3, we get no extra points from killing we get nothing no ability no of nothing just placement, we had matches with lots of kills and assists and all of us didn't get more than 200 poins that they give at 1st place.
I saw sweet vid and I think if you did from start good posaition like 1-5 placement per game you would have been placed up in raking system.
Now we have lobbies full with pred from when our mate 3 hit diamond, we have to scan zone, run most of the time, hide and hope someone dies fast.
The problem right now is that I got ppl that are at silver in my team and I'm at plat wihile I try to go for position and rank up they just " wanna have fun!" this fun costs me points and wanna split up from team that hot drop for snip nothing because they didn t understand how now ranked works, the games are really frustrating and you argue more with people than actualy playing the game.
Playing solo right now is like eating s**t.
