If they really wanted algs style play they'd make the points work exactly the same as it. The issue is they worry people like tad would quit because it would no longer be a fast paced shooter.

I don't see the changes leading to more team play from randoms. If tad queues with randoms and they aren't pushers he will get frustrated.

This is the issue with the game and people. It is a BR with incredible movement and fun. BRs are about winning matched no matter what. If you kill the 3rd place team and die to the team that wins, you still lost. It isn't like the team that loses the super bowl gets consolation trips to Disney. But again the issue is the game is so good movement wise people want to be constantly fighting. I think the real answer is another mode. A 60 player based kill mode. You climb in ranked just by killing. Placement means nothing.

3 bad games protection, i just feel it's too little. I think it should be 5, since:

   1st game, you will be shocked with skill gap difference and die quickly.

   2nd game, you will be more cautious and more intense but still die mid game.

   3rd game, you're so intense that you start become toxic to random team mate, and probably get reported/BAN.

@hayhorYou seem to understand me very well. I very rarely queue with randoms for the exact reasons you've pointed out. If none of my friends are online i usually don't play. The 60 player kill mode you mentioned sounds very interesting and appealing to me.

So the big question is... Do you think these changes will make it harder for us Solo players to climb the ladder?

I made it to Diamond finally this season, playing Mirage I might add 😃 but I think I will struggle more if I'm getting considerably less points per kill 🤔

Solo play and Solo Q are two different things. If you are solo playing ie ditching your team the new system will be detrimental at a certain point. If you solo Q and stick with your team it will depend on the others but the new ranked system is geared toward rewarding team play. We will see next Tuesday how it really works.

Cool, I agree with you. You just said solo play which like i said is deferent from Solo Q.

It's great to hear from someone that solo Q's and try's to play with their team I think the new Ranked system will be at first difficult for the Solo Q player but when  and hopefully when not if more players start playing more team like it will work out well. again we will see starting next Tuesday and in the coming weeks if it works.

I think solo will remain the same. I only ever aim for diamond, so once I get there there is less incentive to play. Trying to push out of diamond with randoms is hard. You might get one or two good games then a lot of bad games and the progress is wiped out too quickly at this point.

I even had a player ask if I was hard stuck like him. I said I usually always am which is why I aim no higher due to solo queue. By the time I'd finished typing he had solo jumped and was killed and proud that he'd downed 2 people.

I mentioned to him that what he did is the exact reason I aim no higher and likely the reason he is stuck. To be fair to him he did admit that yes, he shouldn't be doing that but it shows that unless you have regular people to play with or are really, really good, don't try to push solo queue 😉

Will be interesting to see who the new RP actually plays out though but the emphasis on playing as a team has been needed IMO. To many people play the game as a solo fps / BR game.

@Ragarath Exactly.  The only thing I'd say is 'hard stuck' is Respawn's fault and not yours.  Seriously, there is a point when you are taking blame for other's mistakes and that's not responsibility at that point, that's self mutilation.

In Diamond, if you do really well, killing 2 people of your same skill level, and you place 7th which means you did better than 60% of the other teams at your skill level, SORRY, you lose 8 RP :P

Don't anyone tell me this scoring system is necessary because it absolutely is not.  What it is, is copied from other games, which we kind of know is the point of Apex...to copy the BR format and then try to get phat $$$ from it, oh and also maybe get all the players who do it.

The bottom line is video game companies just frankly suck at sports and scoring.  It's basically a noob field with a lot of money being thrown at it, and lead guitar player wanna be types.  If you accept it as that, then it's really a lot easier to stop your personal torture.  It's really not your fault you cannot rise above Diamond IV with the system in place.  You only rise above Diamond IV if you are actually Master rank, but have decided you have a life and don't want to put in the hours.

Respawn is just doing what Fortnite does, and now they are trying to change it but they don't really understand what they are doing either.  I'm going to play solo without a team this upcoming season, ignoring them and letting them die, and I'm fairly positive I will be absolutely fine.  The whole 'Team KP' thing is not going to change the core problem, but it will make kool aid drinkers of the ranked system 'believe'.  Which is fine, I don't want to come down on anybody who is an Apex cult member, who takes the game personally, if it makes them happy doing so.  I more just recommend having other priorities and understanding the way the game works, rather than the commercial being spewed to everyone.

@KelRiever @hayhor that's what sprung into my mind. It will be interesting to see how the team non kill assist works into the overall ranked point picture next week. It does seem contrary to an aparrent team play focus. Much like in the below promo 😃 as Wraith always says "all that matters is being thd last one alive"! 😉
