Don't knock camping and hiding until you tried it. I stagnated at plat IV playing solo for a good few days, but now i'm almost Plat II and climbing due to hiding until top 10/5/3 when I need to. I engage fights with my team knowing it could go badly at any moment, when it does go bad run as fast as you can and find a good hiding place, no point you dying along with the 2 of them.
position yourself better for when the ring closes, I know how most of the rings will finish now and it gives me an advantage knowing who is likely to travel through which areas and so forth.
Get used to using a long ranged weapon and trying to finish off squads that are in a fight.
