Re: Aim assist nerfing OR add Aim assist to mouse

I hear you. I'm a mouse and keyboard player. My hot take would be to nerf aim assist and remove tap strafing. Keep wall bounce since both inputs can utilize that technique

When controller players say "but MnK players can tap strafe" (it's impossible movement in my opinion), the fact is that controller players can also tap strafe if they play from Steam by using Steam's controller configuration software, so there's controller players tap strafing left and right aswell.

I refuse to use tap strafing, and Respawn also agrees that tap strafing is not good for the game. They know how to remove it, because they "accidentally" did it many seasons ago and many pro players went big mad so it was reversed.

The "but PC players have 144hz when us console players have 40-60fps" argument is also a bit flawed in my opinion since there's PC players with laptops who get 30fps aswell. Sure, you can just buy a better PC and enjoy the higher fps bur console players can't since there's no better console to buy

Maybe Respawn will nerf aim assist when (or if) the 120fps update comes that they have promised for almost 3 years now

For me, i'm just a casual player who plays for fun, I have no desire to compete at high levels, so I can just brush it off if I get rolled by a controller player in 1v1 ( i do roll my eyes if they teabag my deathbox afterwards since 40 or 60% of their aim is done by instantaneous aim software)

I don't know. I have no problem if console players have 60% aim assist if they play against each other, but PC can't disable cross-play, so there's no input specific lobbies where MnK play against each other and controller players battle against each other

When I watch ALGS tournament and see how the aim of controller players sticks to enemies I just go "oh, cool..." and yea...

I also want to clarify that I have no ill will towards controller players, I just have problem with the game giving so much aim assist, so I have "problem" with respawn.

If you play controller, that's what you do, it's the game that has the problematic amount of aim assist in my opinion.

I hope Respawn would at least do some experiments with the amount of aim assist given to players, or how the aim assist works technically. I have heard from many pro controller players that they would be okay with 20% or 30% aim assist instead of 40%. I hope respawn tests this

I can promise you: Respawn did not just pick 40% aa out of the air. They arrived at that number as the right number to give the vast majority of players parity in accuracy across platforms. The problem arises when it gives more than parity to the 2% of players who were already born with an aimbot in their brain. Which, as @Kyldenar pointed out, is a rich people's problem. It doesn't affect me and I doubt it affects nearly as many people as complain about on the forums.

It's human nature to look for a reason why something happens, and when the reason is "random nature of the universe" then people are unhappy because that's not something they can fix. So they look for something else, even if it's a red herring or a half-truth, and then blame it. And then blame the developer. Because, to come full circle, it's easier to blame someone else than it is to believe that developers did their due diligence and came up with the solution that is the best for the greatest number of players.
