Here's some thoughts:
1. There are new casual, respawn upon death, game modes that you will find under the name "Mixtape" - A 3-point Control mode, TDM, and a four squad gun game. Playing these should help you regain your skills and confidence with low consequences and no saved stats. They are also very good for completing battle pass challenges.
2. New to you weapons that are very strong are the Nemesis, Rampage, CAR, 30-30 Repeater, and a re-vamped LStar, to name a few. ARs have been nerfed a bit and the 301 in particular is no longer as strong as it once was. Right now is a bit of a poke and SMG meta.
3. While they are still good, Bloodhound has slipped down the tier charts quite a bit since you played. They are fine to play still, but has been nerfed since their heyday, the scan meta has gone away to some extent, and power creep from newer legends might make them more attractive to you. Good news is that you can now play all legends in the Firing Range to see if they suit you. Speaking of Firing Range, it's had a big update and can be more useful than before for practicing.
4. Matchmaking is still pretty tough on the solo q player. You will most likely get thrown right into the fire in that regard, despite your long break. and especially if you had good stats from before. So good luck out there, Legend! Glad to have you back.
