I have played many online games with other people.. I have dealt with toxicity on every game I have played that has online play... but nothing comes close to APEX. Teammates who consistently solo jum...
Build rapport. Whilst in process of character selection screen be the first person to say hi in mic.
Successfully surviving initial landing battle gives a nice morale boost for further convo.
I noticed once everyone starts talking, any mistakes seem to be more forgiven. It is like they've heard your voice, seem to be a nice person...how can I rage at him after such a pleasant greeting?
So yea be the first person to say "Hi, hows it going. Wanna land hot or not?"
I have done this. I do agree that it helps and can make things smoother. However with that being said I don't feel I should have to be fake nice to people. When I log on to play I say hi and basically go with the jump master and I am there to work as a team and try my best to help our team win. I don't need to be best friends with 2 randoms on the internet but at the same time if we are on a team together whether it be for 2 minutes or the entire match I want us to work as a team and be respectful of each other.
I play 3 games right now ... APEX, Rocket League, and PUBG. All 3 I have had toxic teammates. But I can tell you without a doubt "per capita" APEX is by far the worst. It's not even close. I might have 1-2 toxic teammates in rocket league for every 15 players I team up with. PUBG I would say its about 1 in 10. APEX I am getting around the 40-50% mark. The thing is I am not doing anything to instigate these toxic teammates. I am sure I haven't been perfect but I don't blatantly disrespect people and I always try my best to help my team win.
