Re: Blood Effects Setting On/Off
@apostolateofDOOM Vegan here ... is this why I can't get out of Gold? Lol :D
I get what the OP is saying. I don't like playing games like CoD or Battlefield because of the 'natural-looking' death. This is why I play cartoon-y-like games such as Apex.
Some of us are not built to be preds. Yesterday I downed a Gibby at those buildings close to what used to be The Farm just after he'd ressed a LL. He crawled under some steps and the LL went to hide as well. I downed her easily and they both huddled together in the corner with their shields up. I couldn't bring myself to kill them ... well I did - I dropped two grenades and ran off so I didn't see the aftermath.
Just last week I downed a Pathy who was huddled between two loot bins, all on his own. When I got there to finish him off he looked so pathetic I just left him there. I looted for a few seconds and came back - he was still there so I dropped a Phoenix Kit in front of him and ran off. He must have been revived as I did not get the kill. I'm just ... soft ...
I always feel there's a high number of small children playing this game (I know they shouldn't be lol) so don't feel *that* comfortable 'killing' them. I've had squeaky-voiced TMs burst into tears when killed. Yeah, they shouldn't be playing if they don't have the emotionally maturity. It's only a game, but you do get to play with some people who are immature just because when they write down their age it's just a single digit (and others who are immature because when they write down their IQ it's just a single digit).
I saw a clip once of some bizarre sand-box game that seemed to be a medieval version of Second Life. An adult had broken into some fortress a child had created and was routinely destroying it and stealing everything that the child has spent months building up. The child could see what was happening and was bawling his eyes out, pleading with the adult to stop, but the adult just kept destroying and stealing. I could never do that!
