Calling bad players "bots" is what cheaters want. Don't fall for that trap. Better to just call them noobs. And yes the game is full of them because like above poster said, these are people who don't normally play fps games on the pc but are attracted to the hype.
People have been referring to bad players as "bots' for years now.
You know, like the AI bots you play against in games like CS that are terrible? That's where the term comes from.
And yes OP you are definitely on to something. The skill level in this game is pretty absurdly low at the moment and it is for the aforementioned reasons. The combination of f2p and the hype has attracted a myriad of players. MANY of which are just absolutely clueless.
i'm sure things will get better when other titles come out. I'm sure the BF br has siphoned some off.
I've only heard it now. Cheaters were first called bots in quake 1. then they were called hackers later on in counterstrike to make cheating more cool.
In quake 1 the bots like frogbot were actually not terrible. They were good to practice against. in counterstrike noobs were called llamas or noobs as far as I remember. I really think this is an overwatch generation term. or cs:go maybe. Not the cs I remember . I truly believe its just another way cheaters avoid being called that derogatory term that describes what they truly are. Not human.
