Re: Can you please stop forcing us to play your LTM’s

@Bean2kay9

The reason they force it is probably because of what one of the Devs said. Something to do about how the community wants a lot of LTMs, but their retention isn't very high after the first few days. And they take work to make. So, I guess their solution was to have it replace Pubs. Thus, strong arming people to play it, if they don't like Ranked.

I could be wrong, but it seems like that's why they are doing it this way. And, if that's true, I think they have the wrong take away from all of this. There are multiple reasons why retention could decrease over time. first of all, it's just because no matter what mode you make, there are people that will like the Main game better. That's just how it is for some people. Another reason could be that they just don't really care for the mode for whatever reason. And the last reason I can think of is because they might like the LTM, but It gets in the way of their challenges/BP progression.

Personally, I have experienced the ladder two. there have been modes I just didn't care for, so I didn't play them. There have also been times where I really enjoyed the mode, but due to how it structured, I had to choose between either playing it or working on my battle pass. Shadow Royale was the biggest example of this. I love that mode, it was fantastic. But, nothing you did in that mode counted toward your battle pass. You couldn't do any challenges. So, I had to choose between either playing a mode I enjoyed and not making any progress, or making progress and not playing the mode. Had I been able to do both, I would have played it more. But, thats not how it worked out and that's not my fault, it's how they structured the situation.

    I guess an alternative solution would be to shorten the LTM times and reduce the score pool for earning the rewards whilst keeping them isolated from standard pubs.

    This way you can rotate LTM's more often as people may be more likely to miss them due to real life constraints etc, this would also meet the "We want more LTM's" demand as at this point there's a lot of LTM's they could recycle.

    Realistically though I think the real crux of this whole thing is that they're worried about queue times and splitting the player load....which I'm not sure is warranted with the addition of switch users to the player pool.

    All guess work on my part though. *shrugs*
