Re: Catering to the casuals far too much

I don't drop super hot, but i do mostly drop next to people to fight for their loot. I don't really want a timer in the game that hits 2 mins and a person pops and stuff goes everywhere, but would be funny.

I just want a better public matchmaking. Becuase i play solo in most games, i get connected with 2 people who clearly just loot the whole game. I'm not down with this at all. So once they see me go off and be solo and they see me still killing people, they join in. It seems people are very happy to loot my kills, but not help with any damage. This is a common issue with PC public servers.

I also find it funny, because i have 3000+ kills on most of my used heros like Pathfinder, Lifeline, Octane, people give me jump master. I use this to drop new players in a simi hot location, but not to die. I give them advice if they go to the wrong location or a bad spot, that is if they have and use their mic. Most players that die on PC are toxic and only say something right before they leave.

  • They most definitely want to push for as many casual players as they can, because that's where the money is at. More people playing the game = more people spending their money in the game. You don't make money from a tiny hardcore players who are super competitive.

I don't see this a bad thing, as I am myself a casual player, so anything that makes the game more accessible and enjoyably for myself and most of my friends, is a good thing. And even that said, this game has plenty of depth and layers to mechanics that if you are competitive and hardcore, you can always keep learning and improving with new combinations of weapons and legends.

@Vladplaya I understand your point and agree with it for the most part, but it’s the hardcore players that keep garnering the attention for the game. Without them, the casuals would either not know of this game or wouldn’t try and get that good or get that nice looking skin.

Casuals play casually which can make they play 2-10 games at any given time a week. If they have no one to look up to, I don’t think they would heavily invest into a game and just move on to the next.

So if Respawn catere too much to new players, the oldies will leave. Look at Modern Warfare. Alot of ‘oldies’ from the originals were eager to play it until they saw that they wanted to make the game newb friendly. Even tho they like the game they stopped playing it or became very vocal and luckily Infinity Ward listened.

It doesn’t matter how much depth Apex has. If only new ppl play it even the noob/newbstompers will get tired of eradicating those players and move on.

@Vladplaya I agree, I am a casual player and get sick of seeing players with 30,000 kills and squadmates with 10,000+ dominating every game.

What are you saying, make Apex in a casual nightmare like Battlefield?

Also, DOTA 2, LOL haven't in my eyes ever pushed for casuals and they get some of the most gametime out of all games on PC. They should follow those games and forget anything Battlefield, Call of Duty, Destiny.
