They most definitely want to push for as many casual players as they can, because that's where the money is at. More people playing the game = more people spending their money in the game. You don't make money from a tiny hardcore players who are super competitive.
I don't see this a bad thing, as I am myself a casual player, so anything that makes the game more accessible and enjoyably for myself and most of my friends, is a good thing. And even that said, this game has plenty of depth and layers to mechanics that if you are competitive and hardcore, you can always keep learning and improving with new combinations of weapons and legends.
What are you saying, make Apex in a casual nightmare like Battlefield?
Also, DOTA 2, LOL haven't in my eyes ever pushed for casuals and they get some of the most gametime out of all games on PC. They should follow those games and forget anything Battlefield, Call of Duty, Destiny.
