The argument ive seen vs the macro to fire semi auto weapons is that the macro cannot fire the weapon faster then it was programmed to do 'Normaly' meaning it has a cyclic rate that wont change with a macro or scroll wheel or fast spam clicking, all the macro does is remove inconsistencies in fire rate during battle
now, I think those inconsistencies are a self balancing mechanism in the game (better you are, the better your aim and fire rate are.) and i think Macroing any of that is a form of cheating, However its a weak argument since it does not make them better at aiming, and ii wont be reporting anyone for macroing fire rates, its just not at the top of my report priority list- My take has always been rebinding keys is fine but as soon as you automate multiple user inputs with a single button press it is cheating.
Just git gud, only noobs macro. The problem is that even though the fire rate isn't improved you are eliminating the need to acquire target and then fire with correct timing. Tracking and firing single fire weapons take significantly more skill than simply holding left click and tracking. By using a full auto mod you are automating trigger pulls which now allows you to simply track and not worry about you fire timing matching target coverage
It's fun how spamming wheel down (=pressing the jump button 20+ times per second) is fine for everyone, like a person could manually do that.
Any macro is a cheat. And player who use it is a cheater and should be permanently banned.

You should probably stop speaking in absolutes. It doesn't help your argument.
Yes, macroing can be considered cheating, but it's not always definite. It just depends on what the macro exactly does.
I would say a macro that changes the fire characteristics of a gun would be cheating. Taking a gun from a burst/single fire operation to full auto would be considered as such.Though, there are some macros that just make games less tedious. Which is why a lot of games don't ban them.
You can cheat in many ways (3rd party programs, exploits, macros etc.), however, regardless of the method used, cheating is still cheating and should be punished with permanent ban.
You are the one who trying to break the reality and explain that cheat, it's not always cheat. Let's make it clear: Anything that helps you in any way gain an advantage over other players and does something for you is cheating. Games do not ban macro because they are undetectable. At least those that are installed in hardware (mouse, keyboard).
Probably most cheaters think the same way you do. Aimbot certainly does not let them get bored ...
Not everybody agrees with you, especially not developers. Most allow macros.
By your logic, getting a better GPU is cheating. Because it would give you an advantage over someone with worse hardware.
This is what happens when you try and speak in definites and don't actually look at the thing you're attempting to discuss.
Name me one developer that explicitly allows botting, because that's what macro's esentially are. Automating stuff that was not intended to be automated by the developer is almost universally forbidden and frowned upon.
Fact one: For honest players, the fact that macro is cheat is obvious.
Second fact: Cheaters always try to mislead reality and fit it into their theories. They deliberately distract and try to mitigate their actions.
Fact three: Just because someone allows something, does not mean that this thing is honest.
Fourth Fact: All dirty tricks are banned at game tournaments.
Psyrecx is the resident troll of these forums . He's just here to argue for the sake of arguing and just keeps inventing "facts" to "support" his side of the argument on every thread (pulling ideas straight out of his rear, no matter true or not (checking is not in his interest either)).
Kind of reminds of the quite recent psychology science scandal when numerous "scientists" have been caught to have been fabricating data for years. Obviously noone will ever take anything they write (even if they manage to publish) seriously ever again.
@preyandplay
First, I'm going to ignore the NTS fallacy presented here and just pretend like it's a valid statement, and respond to it. To an 'honest player', they'd like to understand the things they talk about. Which would require understanding what a macro is. They can be used to cheat, but aren't necessarily. That's why your statement isn't really a valid one.Second, some cheaters do, some cheaters openly admit it. Not all do, not all don't, and not everyone trying to explain something is a cheater.
Thirdly, just because you don't like something, doesn't make it dishonest.
Lastly, there's lots of things banned in gaming tournaments, certain types of hardware being of such. This isn't a gaming tournament, nor are macros banned in all.@Biochemikas
Someone asked a question, I responded to it, that's not called arguing.
You on the other hand, would be considered trolling at this point. You only came here to do so, ironically enough.It's funny when someone is trolling and calling someone else a troll. Makes you wonder if they're self aware.
@preyandplay
Never found a need to. I understand the mechanics of gaming. You, on the other hand, don't know how to follow the rules of the forums, so...He probably play same way in any game, like this
@preyandplay
Don't need to, I have proper hardware.

...To quote Obi-wan "only a sith deals in absolutes" which is itself an absolute because they are kind of hard to avoid using.
@prankstar2
Yeah, it is an extremely ironic statement. Kind of does raise a question of Obi-wan though, doesn't it?

@prankstar2
I was more or less pointing to the fact that he used a statement that then described himself. So, in other words, he may have admitted he was a sith.
