Re: Role Queue in Apex

@Cheese9Man Didn't Overwatch 1 try this and it failed as queue times became super long?

Definately do not want this. Just fix Horizon and Seer while adding an alternative legend for Valk. And create more defensive legends areas where they shine instead of taking them away.

Yeah, I have seen the Horizon's team no longer makes any noise after the lift bug, but I know the second I started abusing it I would get hit with a suspension. That needs to be fixed. And Seer still has way too much wall hack. I have been thinking maybe his heartbeat sensor needs to be a shorter range (30 yards? Maybe as short as 20?) and just 360 degrees. He knows when enemies come near, if not sure which way (still acts as a warning in closed spaces).

I still say Valk needs to have all the recon parts removed (she's an attacker, let's be honest) and I am starting to think her only "flight" should be the Ult. The passive should be swapped for a "pilot mobility pack training" where she jumps higher, can double jump (but not overall as high as Octane's Jump Pads) and maybe even bring back wall run. Then no more need for that fuel gauge BS. Also, would make more sense cause the wings are not long enough to fly at the slow speed she does. It would make sense that it works like a Pilot Mobility pack though.

Also, they could extend that passive idea to other attackers that it makes sense has pilot training. Like Ash (replace the seeing death boxes on map with it, but leave the data knife for when you find one) and maybe Wraith (so she has at least half a passive that works for players on higher pings rather than the current: "BANG!" {shield cracked} "Move, a shooter!" voiceline late thing).

@KyldenarI think valks passive just needs to go to her tactical ability. It would work the same with fuel and all. She just loses rockets. But then what's her passive?

Seer just needs full on deletion.

@hayhorThat would be a nightmare to relearn her movement.

The rockets are a good tactical. The only reason they can be oppressive is being able to aim from the air (over cover) and that people are unable/unwilling to move out of the clear red circles (like playing Guild Wars 2... ). Change the passive like I said and they become a little less useful and harder to aim.

Sadly, they will never delete Seer, so our best bet is suggesting ways to reign in the wallhack meta. I am hoping Catalyst is the start (and that maybe Crypto gets another balance pass this season to be "Off the Grid").

@Kyldenar I shouldn't have to play a certain legend to counter constant wall hacks tho.🤨

thats why guns are nerfed. real guns kill you one shot but in games they cant do that thats illogical.

if my hero i like to play always kills your hero thats fair you have a team dont run out and tackle my team you will die. play as a team and you might win.

everything being fair leads to bad teams.

    @hayhor No, we should not.

Should not also always have to have a Valk to rotate in Storm Point, but they don't seem keen on fixing that either.

But also buff the ones we currently have. Caustic & Wattson come to mind.

@Cheese9ManI don't mind this idea. Or at least implement the one I brought up awhile back where you can see who people have pre-selected so you can choose your Legend accordingly. If you care about that kind of thing.

@Lord_Scorpion34 Wattson and Caustic do not need buffs and they will likely never get them as they are used in comp. They need maps like old KC where they can actually lockdown areas. And they need teammates that play together. Their pick rates will never be high in pubs due to the way the game is played. Mirage needs a buff. He isnt good or used at any level. The rest of the legends all seem viable, if played in the way that maximizes their ability.
  • @hayhor They said that the new map is good for defensive legends. Didn’t know where they got the idea though as it doesn’t look any different than the maps we have right now.

@BigMacAttack8u Hmm I still think this would not stop people dropping to the biggest POI they see first. We’ve proven that the size of the POI nor loot attracts the hotdroppers. Estates is relatively small and can probably hold a max of 3 teams for loot. They also drastically reduced the loot on Fragment and we all know 3/4 of the lobby still go there.

I’m still suggesting to have at least 2 drop ships with different paths. Anyways, still hyped about the map. I can see the eastern part of the map is where people will drop more often.

@Cheese9Man I have not seen enough to know yet. Honestly you need buildings like the KC ones or WE ones. Olympus buildings are really bad for defensive characters and SP is SP.

I assume this map will be good for the new legend, who seems defensive so it would make sense they tried to time this release.

@Lord_Scorpion34 Yeah, he still needs some part of his passive to work when he's solo. I still like the idea of him cloaking when crouched, not moving, and not shooting for at least 3 seconds.
