Re: TSM_Albralelie QUIT Apex

@asukojo

The 2nd link didnt work for me. Says VOD unavailable. I read the other tho.

I say good for him, if as he says he was becoming toxic on stream. It would be a horrible thing to end up hating your livelihood, especially when it is gaming. I have no idea how streamers do what they do as I cant play for more than a few hours without needing a break.

Is he playing this weekends tourney? Who is replacing him?

Personally I played for 4 hours this morning. I still enjoy this game immensely but really wish they'd fix the sound. Generally my connection is good.

  • If you are looking to pro-players for outside confirmation whether you should personally be playing something or not, I think that's a mistake.  And I think it's not useful whatsoever to try to use pros quitting as some sort of convincing tool about being right if something is 'dying' or not.

If you are looking at a game yourself, however, and it isn't bringing you that much enjoyment, I'd think you wouldn't need either that much convincing or anyone outside of you, pro or not, to decide it's not for you.  And maybe that it's not even that great a game.

Now, personally, I think there's a lot of good about Apex as a battle royale game.  Right now, personally, though, I feel like Respawn's focus is wrong in so many ways. And this is a season I'm on the fence about...I didn't buy the BP yet, I couldn't care less about ranked because it sucks right now, and that Respawn can't get their head around the core way their own game works, and because of it they need a new map, it just willfully ignorant.

Freemium format probably has a lot to do with it, and maybe squeezing out a profit margin with super inflated prices.  I get the sense Respawn has the misguided thought of only wanting to keep a certain player base that will constantly pay money and put up with whatever they do.  Which is * backward marketing mentality.

Don't really care because ultimately it's all excuses.  I either like what they are doing enough or dump them.  And yeah, I can see that they are pretty close to being dumped as much as I love them.  Still playing every day, but every day it's getting more monotonous, and the trash versus good games grows higher in ratio.  So....Respawn knows what to do, the question is if they want to do it or not.

  • @hayhor I updated the link above.

The fact he didn't mentioned Hal stirred a lot of controversy, seems there's bad blood during the separation.

  • @asukojo ''unless Respawn shift their focus back and invest resources to fundamental and great content, instead of money printing''

Not gonna happen with TF3 in the works. RIP.
  • @asukojo if he quit because hes burned out, its understandable. But weirdly hes going pro in Val? idk but that game doesnt seem to be doing amazing either.
  • @asukojo Hal seems to disagree a lot with Mac and Reps and vice-versa, so wouldnt be shocking if Mac didnt like Hal that much.

@asukojo Yes, that was my guess. Sometimes people are pushed out of things but given the opportunity to walk away as if it was their idea.

No matter what the truth is a break from it will be good for him. He has said in the past the stress of being the best has been brutal.
  • @RustedYoda I think the biggest reason why we don't understand why Valorant because we don't play it, or if we played it we didn't like it and the game is not for us, and the only thing what we bump into on the internet regarding Valorant is "Valorant sucks" "Valorant is dying"

And again, once you compete in a game, the competitive spirit will be there for a while and you look for new opportunities, he chose this

Well I’d rather they shift their main focus on providing a better TF3 experience than maintaining their equilibrium of Apex with more resources going towards this game, cause frankly the TF games are (at least for me) more enjoyable than Apex and besides that, if TF3 doesn’t deliver like it’s predecessors whether it be commercially or critically (with commercially being better for EA since it’s a company and companies need their products to sell obviously... but it’s EA... so nuff said xD), it might be the end for TF series, whereas Apex can continue on...

  • @Koochi-Q Agreed. I'd like to see them shifting more to TF3 to make sure it's the sequel that can keep things going. I think they could end up linking the two like COD did Modern Warfare and Warzone. Let Apex be the BR for the Titanfall universe, and Titanfall 3 could give us the single player, multiplayer variety modes, and co-op. I would still keep them separate executables.
Maybe have a direct menu item in each game that will launch the other one.
  • @Koochi-Q I think given the past 12 months it's the best thing for them to do now but seeing how Apex has evolved (actually the opposite as that would imply it developed) i'm puzzled as to what they're planning with their 10 year road map and the new studio in vancouver dedicated to Apex..

Surely you would string Apex along and milk it as long as possible while dedicating resources to a new release? I think they're either currently lying or trying to get their cake and eat it, which they will, but us as players will ultimately get the short straw on both titles.

@apostolateofDOOM Good point. As a company high dividends makes most sense and since Apex is free, continue to milk that would be advisable. That is, do what they do now.

That’s why most of their resources should focus on TF3 while keeping apex on life support with a smaller team. That way you get maximum gain out of both titles without needing to hire additional ppl to let apex thrive :P

This is just my selfish apex request tho xD.
  • @Koochi-Q If tf3 come I will delete apex :P unless they convert tf3 into battle royal genre i will not buy it xd

Who quit? Is what i see. The best players in the world could quit and i could care less. I play this game for me my entertainment. Not to worry what others are quitting for. To base your own personal opinion on a game because a streamer does this or says this is weird imo. Do we not make our own choices are we not leaders no more instead followers? Do what makes you happy not what streamer bob is doing.

  • @E9ine_AC You... well ‘we’ live in different times. It used to be all about ‘me. Me. Me’ but nowadays thats not true in the most honest sense. Now it’s ‘me... in the eyes of them’.

Example being social media. Nobody makes a social media account without having the intent of getting followers. One’s worth on social media is based on the amount of followers or important ppl following that person and not how happy one is just posting.

Times were simpler back when... but at least ppl have a choice, life the way they want or live the way they think they want. Most ppl born after 2000 tho are brainwashed into the 2nd option tho...

    Oldtimers rule!

@Koochi-Q Ummm not true. I have an Instagram account to look at funny stuff and women, not to post or get followers.
  • @hayhor  Most honest reason for having an insta account I've ever seen.

Was super tempted to accept solution just for that.. xD

  • @hayhor And... were you born before or after 2000 😁

And... do you need an instagram to view all other instagram accounts or photos like FB where you need a FB for looking at some profiles?

    @Koochi-QWell before 2000. I'm no millenial that's for sure!

Yeah, you need an account to view. Funny thing is my instagram account was connected to my fake facebook account, which was one of the cats. 😂

Unfortunately someone on Facebook ratted me out so I made a real facebook account. Do not post much on that tho. Mainly use it for Subie groups and to keep up with other people.

  • @hayhor Then my point still stands! XD

Good that you got ratted out! Now you know how I feel. Never made a social media account (a real one) and in school ppl were so shocked that my classmates forced me to make one. I didn’t... so they made one for me... =_= which I never used xD.
