Re: Waiting 6 months to unlink Xbox account from EA account.

Heya @S0_Jedi

Keep in mind that if you try to unlink one of your platform accounts, it shows a warning that indicates that you can lose progress and that you won't be able to relink your account for a certain date.

This 6 month period is set in place for security reasons, support won't always be able to remove something like that, as it does exist for a reason.

  • Security reasons? They are MY accounts. There should be a system in place where you can at least prove the EA accounts are yours, rather than waiting for 6 months. This is absolutely absurd. What EA is doing is practically theft, because of how much money I spent on the game. EA should be ashamed of themselves. How do you expect your consumers to trust you if this is the treatment you’re going to give to your players? This needs to change ASAP. If it were any other game developer, I would have been helped and compensated by now.

  • same thing happen to me just yesterday i was trying to link my apple account so that i could log in faster and if i lost the pass to my account but when i logged on apex today i saw that my pc stuff merged with my xbox stuff and none of my xbox stuff in there and when i looked for ways of contacting them i found that there phone number does not work like ea do better.

I get that, but they do exist for a reason, they don't think of these kind of things on a whim so there is a reason for them to exist.

Do keep in mind that players are warned about the fact that they won't be able to unlink their account until a certain date as well, this is usually displayed at the bottom of the message.

Here's an image of how it would look like when unlinking.

It's of course important for players to be able to manage their accounts, but players are notified of what would happen if they were to do something.

If players confirm something without reading what it entails, to be direct, it would be their fault, and it would be a bit unfair to shift the blame on EA.

I do agree that EA support isn't all too great, some other game companies definitely have better support (at least from what I've seen)

But I don't think it's a bad thing that EA is not compromising on account security.
