Re: Welcome to E-District! Discuss the latest map!

You know how you can hear a trident drive by, but you only get a rough idea what direction they are in and don't really know what line of sight obstacles exist between you and the trident?

Imagine a night time map (E-Dist comes to mind) where a vehicle is driving down a street that is behind a bunch of buildings but you can hear it AND you can see its headlights bouncing off the buildings as it passes them. That would be pretty nice.

@MrGreenWithAGunOut of all the unique things in Apex I really like how there is a Pro/Con factor:
-Bloodhound, can scan through walls but if miss, the scan it gives away location. -Lifeline, same, nice items but everyone seen that.
-Bangalore, someone is near this smoke. etc.

The design of the new map is incredible. I cannot imagine the hours of work that went into its design and rendering. Stunning work that needs to be applauded. Just compare it to the cartoon look and feel of Fortnite, Overwatch, Paladins etc.

I don't know how I feel about the complicated nature of it. IRL if someone asked for me directions around KC, WE or Olympus I could easily tell them, and even BM and SP at a point. On here, even after three weeks I still don't know where the f I am. I guess it makes for a different game.

I haven't a favourite POI yet like I have on all other maps aside from BM where they needlessly erased the wonder that was Promenade (joined the list of other RIP POIs like Refinery, Sorting Factory, Train Yard, Salvage .... god, I miss all of them).

    So, my map TL goes:

    1 - KC

    2 - O
    3 - WE

    4 - ED

    5 - BM

    ....

    9,999,999 - SP

This new map stands tall above the others IMO (which is subjective of course).  The attention to details and the 3D nature of the map can really change up gameplay.  Still getting used to it and finding my way around.  Once you learn a couple of favourite POIs loot isn't a problem as there is plenty if you know where to land.

But the map itself is breathtaking.  Such a change from previous ones and I love the "blade runner" type vibes I'm getting from it.  The little eateries, relaxation areas, common areas, the big ship thing which was pretty amazing the first time I saw it... just fantastic.

Trying to describe to people where you pinged something is a challenge though!

Also really glad there is no "fall damage" otherwise this map would be lethal, to yourself!

Looking forward to the map changes next week!

These should go a long way towards addressing the loot situation among other things, good luck fighting over those buses everyone!

    • Ground loot and Loot Bin count has been increased
      • 100 Loot Bins have been added to the map
      • Buses now have ground loot
      • Various buildings have had their ground loot slightly increased

    100 loot bins?

I doubt they will stay long. 100 is way too much. I suspect these are to give the map a shot in the arm, then pull back slowly until the sweet spot is found.

But if scattered around ANYWHERE there is no lighting, then no one would be able to say they couldn't find loot upon initial drop.

@EA_Mako Good to hear! They listened to the number one complaint about E-District and made adjustments. I've won 3 games now in pubs on this map so in a way it's growing on me. It will be much easier to survive the initial drop now with more loot on the map, won't have to run through dozens of buildings trying to scrape up loot now, lol. I'm excited about the changes, and that this shows they are paying attention to what we say on here. 🙂

@EA_Mako Sounds cool! I was about to make a post of how they need to add more buildings, loot, filler content: so much in-between space Give me a Ferris Wheel, or just make the map about 25% smaller idk but good call so far. Thanks

    @XNocturnalGamer

I’d like to see functional escalators.

or how about a river forms through the middle from the dam and a ferry runs up and down that we could board for travel and loot during transit!

or buses that make regular routes throughout the entire map that we can board and loot during transit, shoot from, with the bus stopping at bus stops to pick up and drop off passengers. Not only can the buses transit through a POI, but can show on their signage which POI is their next or final destination.

a high speed monorail or subway would make the map feel smaller as you could transit faster and further- literally across the map in seconds. And loot as you go in transit. ( you can’t loot while flying from a jump tower and you can’t fly across the map from one either.)

The sporty cars you encounter on the roads... think about tooling about the map with your squad in one of those!  lol.
