Re: What has happened to the players?

@W3stminst3r

My experience is pretty much the same, but there's a reason. Apex matchmaking will always match an experienced solo queue player with less experienced players. I'd say it's a given about 90% of the time. The other ten percent is really no different except that suddenly I'm the (relatively) inexperienced player, matched to a masters level duo. The strange thing though is that the masters duo make all the same high-risk moves as the novices, they just skate by because of "skill." And expect me to run around with them without getting killed, or even downed. At least I try to temper my behavior for my own inexperienced teammates, but they don't care. Unlike me, they still WANT the hot drop and instant re-queue.

I used to assume this was just people being cavalier because I only play pubs and who cares what happens in pubs??? But ever since the rank distribution bar in ranked I've been playing there a lot just to see how the matchmaking compares. And it's exactly the same. People do dumb things just like in pubs. The only difference is that they're pissed if you don't do it with them because now they're dead and have to wait for me to die before they can re-queue. And I'm that guy who will hide behind a rock to last as long as possible just out of spite. Nothing makes me happier than when I see that they're tired enough of waiting to quit out, and I know they can't queue up again for ten minutes. Yes, it's petty. Yes, it's also satisfying. So be it.

    See, I play Apex since S1 - so I´ve seen it all: Cheaters, high-experienced players, campers, etc.

    But this season...it´s never been this bad.

    A few minutes ago I lost my "Control"-match because of my team.

    Noone took B, they decided to fight from / on the roofs instead.
    I was complaining in chat (voice and text) to stop fighting on the roofs and take B instead. Noone cared...no reaction!

    It went like this for around 10 minutes and noone ever even tried to take B...except me!

    I´m at least 70 % sure that those "guys" were bots.

    I don't play control and I can't see what it is these people are actually doing or not doing... but I can say this much. Once a game hits a certain age and players just start doing whatever they feel like doing, you'll see it first in objective game types. Why play the objective when you can just play for kills? Kills are easier when you're going after people who actually are playing the objective, and you get the extra added benefit of "losing" so that the matchmaker thinks you're not that good and need easier lobbies. It's as old as Halo CTF. Not sure that's what you're seeing, but I wouldn't be surprised.

    @W3stminst3r That's the thunderdome map right? No one plays that map for anything other than tdm. It's awful. I don't blame the players though. The map design is just terrible. If I'm playing mixtape and that map appears I go do something else.
