@Vdstrk Fortnite have no issue with you staying in the lobby as long as you like, or playing on the map with a few friends, or going alone into the map to explore......
@DoYaSeeMe As both are popular br games, I think it reasonable to compare the two. It's not just about the lobby. I forgot to mention that FN have solo, duo and trio and squads and team rumble etc etc.
Worth looking at what your competitors are doing to keep up. There's are reasons that FN is a number of factors more popular than apex, notwithstanding the different game engine, different code, different server model.
Yt is also having fun learning to use the unreal engine, also readily supplied
