You got Lifeline heirloom then Heirloom counter got reseted. You need another 500 packs to get 150 shards and unlock Bloodhound heirloom.
You don't collect shards. Shards drop 1 time then you choose heirloom and that's it.
You must be very lucky to get a heirloom before 500 packs..
When a player opens an Apex Pack, there is a <1% probability of a Heirloom Set dropping.
( Dropping 150 SHARDS )
A player cannot open more than 500 Apex Packs without receiving an Heirloom set.
(150 SHARDS)
It's the same system as before but now it drops shards and you can choose your heirloom.
Well that's what i understand. If it's different then correct me.

@SpyrosFPS It’s about a .2% and those odds do not increase with each individual pack opened. It does not matter if 2 packs or 498, it’s a .2% chance for every pack. They simply put a counter on the number of packs opened, if you have not received one at 500, you get one. Increasing the odds of getting one as each individual pack is opened would be complex and require an entirely new RNG as each individual pack is opened. It also would lead to most players getting a heirloom around 250-300 packs.
The odds are 1 in 500 packs 1/500=.002 either multiple .002x100=.2% or just move the decimal over 2 places.
