If it was aimed at me and even if it was not.
I like Valorant a bit more for two particular reasons:
- its 5v5 which makes it close to impossible to do 1v5 in evenly matched lobbies even if you are really good vs Apex where 1v3 is kinda doable even because of matchmaking, deranking, smurfing and overall casual player base
- even if you do gazzilion frags/kills but team loses you at best gain minor RR or break even
Which both push people with "I am going to be one man army, f^%& teamwork" into dismal rank hell aka ranks below Gold1 or into changing their mentality into actually teamworking. So many times tough guys in there trash-talked in first 5 rounds, and then it is 0:5 and they flip the switch and become friendliest teammates ever.
Apex is exact opposite especially with this soloq test (as far as I saw it for a week) which leads to Apex community consisting of mainly totally dumb (correct me if there is a better adjective) players or actually mechanically good players but who have (fragile) ego size of an elephant. Basically first will not teamwork and second will treat you like his slave.
Idk but I never understood such ego things and my goal never was to carry a team even if I can/could. For sure it is not fun / motivating for me if the game forces me to do that game after game after game.
Next point - rank and ranking up.
Many people flex Masters but you clearly see / hear from their game that they either exploit something (boosts, duostacks (preferably with as low rank as possible) to get easier lobbies, they avoid basically all fights and just play highly mobile legends or controllers and camp in last zone(s) = basically 50%+ of their time is rotation and idle time.
I don't see the point in that. Nor I lately even try to gain RP at all costs as I used to a while ago by camping, rotating, running away all the time as soon as my dumb teammates die. As I think that builds wrong habits, skills and as byproduct boosts (positive RP or less negative RP) those dumb ones that instead of ranking down hard for their dumb decision actually rank up because I manage to rotate to top5 or whatever.
In my opinion perfect ranked is where you face equally skilled enemies, get into engagements pushing back and forth, partially outgunning enemies at times and partially outsmarting them.
As much as I don't get this ratting, rotating running style anymore I neither get why people get so hyped about say Preds running lobbies and getting like 15-20 KP as a team game after game. That's like borderline bullying.
In conclusion:
- I would like Apex community to be cooperative vs solo star mentality
- I would be more happy to win a great back and forth 3v3 fight vs clutching 1v3 all the time
- I would like more brain to be involved vs just more damage and more kills
And this is all what I get when I 3stack. Yes as byproduct I usually go from P1/D4 level to D2/D1/Masters but really I ignore rank at this point as I know that me as a player have not changed during these weeks no matter am I P1 or Masters. It's just that in a 3stack I can not only do my thing but be beneficial to the teammates elevating their game and vice versa capitalize on reliable teammates e.g. heal when needed instead of fighting for my life knowing that my teammates are running away leaving me or looting while I am being shot and asking for help, check less surroundings as my teammates did their part and I can relay on that vs getting back-stabbed by camper who got past our Seer who didn't use passive because lazy etc.
Basically if there would be some sort of major RP penalty to pay for 3stacking that would keep me in P1/D4 even with 3stack I would still chose that over soloqing to say D3/D2 which I can if I totally sweat and have dismal experience ratting.
