@Emery_XPthere are many shooters that are actually much bigger than apex
especially non br shooters
and you were talking about having a big pool of potential players but in reality most mnk fps players avoid crossplay games with aimassist.

@matzesingtThere are, but all of them implement regular crunch or enforce excessive crunch (like Epic and ActiBlizzard), and/or have done heinous things (such as ActiBlizz and Ubisoft's abuse cases, Valve's extremely lax attitude towards cheaters just to keep their skin economy going, Riot's games being toxic and one of the higher up staff members making racist comments).
Respawn is an exception among studios maintaining AAA shooters, if not, AAA games in general. An exception everyone should aspire to, except being BR and arenas only. Also I'm not that concerned about crossplay. CS:GO beats Apex only on Steam because even though it officially has multiple platform support, it's effectively PC only. Apex could easily beat CS:GO if Origin, PSN, Xbox Live and Nintendo Online numbers were available and added up on top of the Steam numbers, and even if they never play against mnk PC players.

@Emery_XPWell if apex can pull 500k concurrent players on Xbox and ps is questionable and would only be speculation if yes or no.
it is undeniable that the competitive side and more invested players usually play on pc preferred even with mnk, respawn catering to controllerplayers pushes pcplayers away and that trend is noticeable
- 3 years ago@matzesingt that would be like 600k players (assuming an average of 100k concurrent on any given day, thus already putting it toe to toe and sometimes beating CS:GO).
Only Fortnite can beat a vast majority of shooters these days in player numbers and appeal, but it is rather steeped in controversy for a company of Epic's size if not the demand for it.
