Respawn Gives Up, Cheaters Rampant

Respawn is now to the point they are trolling us as a community and are supporting cheaters. It's time to walk away.

I know for 100 FACT they are not banning cheaters. I watched somebody with infinite ammo on an r301 just lay down 40 kills in the control type. ONLY report I made and Respawn did not take action. I just got the email.

Sorry EA, I can't spend another penny on your games - any genre, until you support games, communities, the appropriate way. Pay somebody to moderate each server if that is what it takes. Have reports viewed instantly to the point where something like this can't happen.

A banwave will be quite useful, it will at least lower the amount of cheaters for a while, makes it a more bearable period. (Not sure why banwaves are being used, though I'll try to research it, might be an interesting topic if honest)

I mean, you're assuming nothing is being done, though I personally believe that is kind of unfair since we're unable to know any of their internal projects.

Maybe they have big plans, maybe they don't, though it's not like they're doing nothing.

It's always going to be a war, with every new release of the anticheat, a new release of a cheat will be created.

Personally I don't even encounter that many cheaters, if at all, it seems to be a bit rare, so it might also be a regional thing.

And that's the thing right? Are they really running rampart just because they're playing a lot in a specific region? You'd be getting way more complaints about cheaters if they're all condensed in a few servers, though if they were to be a bit more spread out then we probably would hear less of it. So the problem might look bigger for some players whilst for others it might look smaller.

Honestly, you can try playing on a different datacenter and try to see if you get less cheaters, though it's understandable if you won't keep playing due to this.

@AnyBrains EAC is a free solution. No amount of pleading will ever entice them to give it up.

That said, between smurfs and cheaters so far the game is the worse it has ever been.
I do not play ranked. But pubs is a misery most of the times.
  • I did read somewhere they are working on a new solution, but not sure what that is.

As to what EA will or won't do/giveup, only time will tell, but the clock is ticking, and they better jump fast.

  • A possible solution would be to remove recoil from all weapons and adjust DPS accordingly.

They would then have removed 98% of the cheating problem in Apex.

Furthermore, all the sellers of no recoil scripts / macros etc. would go out of business.

And as a bonus cheating would be easier to detect since there would "only" be aimbot and wallhacks / radar left (and the occasional infinite health etc.)

Might be a good solution, afterall the game is suppose to be in the future, and rehtorically speaking, in the future they haven't learned how to remove recoil... LOL

Or we can all just go out and buy Chronus and use it ourselves... LOL

As much as it pains me to say this, but yes... either remove it and then we're all on the same playing field (other than the smurfs/ true aim/ aimbot etc) - go buy the cheat devices - or continue to be destroy by the ones that have them - or uninstall.

Develop a true anti cheat, not this junk that clearly allows circumvention beyond the capabilities of it developers to do anything about.

Hire some real talent, and pay them well to keep them.

Its very obvious that the hackers are always ahead of the game.

Why not accept that there will always be cheaters in any game that's popular.  I don't know how anti cheat works to catch cheaters using programs.  I assume if there's more going on on the user side then the game allows, this is how anti cheat might work.

How about creating an additional bonus for the players to help catch them with Recon characters?  From posts I've read, many cheaters are either blatant or stealthy (toggling on/off).  Give Recon characters the ability to catch active cheats (not part of the game) when a Recon Beacon is used?  If a player is caught, they're reported, but they're permanently marked on the map and give the killing team bonus LP for taking them out, heck, 1+ to the Recon Character who caught them with a ping.

It's probably asking for a lot but having Recon players actively use a Recon Beacon at unknown times would be one more layer of catching these players.  And EVERYONE would love to curb stomp a cheater.

Most effective anticheat in my 25 + years of gaming has been Server admins in Spectator mode, with the ability to ban instantly.

Back in the Medal Of Honor days, there was a fellow named BlackBart with the Invisible Warrior CLAN. He made his own anticheat software.

There were 3 of them : Counter Intelligence, Missionary, Reverend

In order to play on these servers, Each player had to download and run the client . The server side would always be changing at random intervals and the

client side had checks and balances in place that had to match up with the server side. You could not circumvent the system. If you tampered with it, you were banned instantly.

It was an excellent anticheat, and all the best of us in MOHAA and on the OGL ladder played on these servers, either that or we played on other clan servers we knew that always had server admins watching.

BB was able to do it on his own and very little $$$$. He just asked for any donations that people could afford, nothing more.

Electronic Arts net worth as of October 19, 2023 is $34.74B.

Here we have a company worth Billions of dollars that cant come up with a solid anticheat for their games?? I call bull. You have to start asking why cant they ?

    Well, they can....they just don't.

  • Hi All

I don't understand why its so difficult to completely remove cheaters from Apex and other Games.

    1. When game is loading just run a index check and verify all file sizes & dates of all game files just must correspond to the active version. This can be done when game is over. It takes a seconds.

    2. Write a in game script in game that will ban anyone that move / behave or shoot outside game parameters and ban anyone that played outside this.

Its all about money and EA possibly make money when people cheat. New accounts and so on.

    Regards

    Knight
