S7 Changes Make Me Not Want To Log On (That's A First)

Honestly, when S7 was first talked about and revealed, I was excited for it. New Legend, new map, even some of the weapon/legend/game play changes sounded awesome.

But, then I read they're taking away KC, not only from ranked but from pubs as well. And, I get it, a lot of the top tier Ranked players have issues with it. But, personally, I loved KC *way* more than World's Edge. So, if I don't end up absolutely loving Olympus, I'm not going to want to play. And, even if I do love the new map, I'm only going to enjoy playing 50% of the time (half the maps)... Again. I was hoping this season would give me two maps I enjoy, but I guess not...

But, this all pales in comparison to the BP issue. This grindy, unrewarding piece of garbage, is the biggest turn off. Personally, when I play a game I like to feel like I'm being rewarded and my time/effort is actually worth something. And I like playing to work toward something, not "just" to play. But, after seeing all these threads and comments about the BP. Some people putting in hours and hours into the game and only walking away with a level... It just doesn't seem worth it.

Honestly, I'm saying all this, not to be a "hater", but because I love this game, at its core. It's the only BR I've ever enjoyed playing. And I don't want to stop playing it, stop enjoying myself. But I feel like the direction EA/Respawn wants to go, just isn't for me, anymore.  No KC this season, a super grindy pass, it all just sucks a lot of the fun out of it for me.

I don't want to be one of those "I quit!" forum posters, but I just don't see the fun in the game right now. And I know I'm not the only one. This just sucks, man. I *want* to have fun this season, I *want* to be excited about the game (like I did in previous seasons), but I just... Don't. I wish I did, but I don't.

*Heavy Sigh*

  • @JonStriker126 You're not the only one, I've been burnt out on this game for a while, and overall the game itself hasn't had genuine improvement since release. You'll still get shot through doors and solid cover from enemies who aren't on your screen, you'll still get code: Leaf crashes, their servers (especially in ranked) will constantly crash, RNG loot will constantly screw you over, no solos despite the overwhelming evidence that people just don't play as a team or for it, audio is still completely terrible, and now we've got over the top immensely grindy BP objectives.

A lot of people here on the forums agree too, we all love the game, but we're all pretty tired of how poorly developed and unrefined it is after 7 seasons. As a week 1 player, S7 is just more of the same frustrating nonsense, except now we're on a fancy new map.

  • Every season, they always have huge misshap in top level decision & game design.

This time they invited pro-player/content provider. I'm surprised they didn't exposed this glaring pain point.

Probably they were just invited for 8 hours, they played with new account so they didn't buy BP on it, so they didn't pay attention to the battle pass progression.

You can see from their release content, they all discussed about Horizon, patches, and new map. None of them discuss about BP.

  • @asukojo all the content creators they invited were sponsored by EA, or at least from the people I watched, they were sponsored by it.

AKA, they probably signed a contract to not say anything BUT positives about the new season. It's not an uncommon thing, and content creators who genuinely have criticisms about the game (like ShivFPS) don't get sponsored by EA because they're more willing to say to the people, "Hey this sucks major rear."

The new BP was an intentional change, don't let anyone fool you into thinking that this was an, "Oopsie doopsie, we messed up teehee" change.
