SBMM Needs to go! Casual games are as sweaty as Ranked now.
I'm in Diamond ranked on PS4 and every single casual lobby I've entered has been as sweaty as Diamond ranked games...
Yesterday I was in a Public Lobby in Round 5 of the circle WITH 6 TEAMS STILL ALIVE. Are you kidding me. There were 6 teams camping it out in a Public lobby's end game circle. All of which were players ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 kills with their individual characters.
At the current moment SBMM is ruining this game. I have been a strong supporter of this game since day 1 of launch, but this might be the straw that breaks the camels back. There is currently no difference between Ranked and Public lobbies for higher tier players.
I'm not saying I want to pub stomp worser players every public game to make myself feel superior, but I also dont want to play against full teams that have over 10,000 kills per character in public games. Essentially in the past week every squad that I've been killed by has at least 1 member with 10,000 plus kills on one character...
I also dont wan't to play Diamond Ranked every game because those games are 75% populated by Apex predators who have nothing to lose, so they lackadaisically push any fight they can sniff out. Which turns a 2 team mid game fight, into a 6th party fruckfest. Another aspect of the game that needs to be fixed. If the devs are so worried about new players not getting stomped every game, why dont they care about their day 1 supporters who want to progress through Diamond ranked playing AGAINST OTHER DIAMOND RANKED MEMBERS... It has been said before, but I don't care how long Predator queues will be, make Ranked Predator lobbies their own separate queue. Its ridiculous.
So my team and decide were tired of trying to play against the top 100 Predator players in NA, ONLY TO GET THROUGH DIAMOND, and we choose to play public.
Well golly, its the exact same lobbies!!! Now we are still playing against the sweatiest teams but for no ranked or tangible reward! It's asinine how poorly your SBMM is going for any player who isnt just plain awful at the game. If you were trying to prevent their fragile little souls from getting wrecked every game, have the SBMM only loop the lower 25% of players in the same lobbies, and then keep the rest of the 75% of the average to good to best players in the other lobbies. There you go. The newer players can still have their slower games to get the hang of it, and the veteran players don't have to play full sweat mode every single game they enter.
I remember a time when my team and I would push as many fights as possible in casual with no restraint, because we wanted to try to get high kill games and have a good time, while trying out new strategies and new game plans with different characters. I remember a time when there would be 2 teams left in public lobbies, and once one team saw the other they would full send and initiate a fight. Now both teams will just camp their butts off in a stalemate until circle 7 where they are then finally forced to fight. This is not fun. This is not the way Public lobbies should be.
Also, in the past 2-3 weeks I have noticed an influx of lagging players who will skip across the map in short burst. These players are at times nearly impossible to hit and and kill because of their untracable and jittery movement. Yes this has happened many times previously with players who have bad internet, but it seems it has become more prevalent since SBMM has been introduced.
In summary, by choosing to make it easier for newer players so they stick around and dont become discouraged, you have alienated your main audience and supporters since day 1. There now are no more "fun games" of Apex. Ever since SBMM has been implemented this game only feels like ranked.
