I read most of the patch notes, but I'm lost. For example Eduardo Agostini, World Director said "When revisiting Kings Canyon,". Just on this first bit, I got lost.
1. Why are the developers and/ or the people in charge of the outcome of Apex Legends so fixated on the map/s?
2. Why spend the resources on developing a new story line (lore) for a battle royale (BR) experience, when most won't care to notice. I play first person shooters to shoot things, I couldn't care when or where this fantasy popped in a developers head and teach me about it.
3. Why not spend more on the core experience like abilities, new weapons?
I read up to the part where they remove the building, but got even more lost when Eduardo Agostini stated "Throughout the development of Season 8, we kept listening to the community and breaking down the experiences and the combat encounters that people were frustrated with.
I really focused on "we kept listening to the community ". I would love one example of any feedback they received for Apex Legends they actually used, just once.
For example I posted when ranked released that it was already causing issues with matchmaking. I stated that overtime the casuals will diminish and the hardcore players will be the majority just like every video game. When this happens, new players will be matched with skilled players. All because they created too many rooms for the ranked mode.
So yeah, these updates for Apex legends don't make sense to someone like me. I expected so much more Apex Legends. Mostly in the weapons part of the game, you know because it's a first person shooter after all.
I want to point out this is my interpretation of Apex Legends from FEB 2019 to now. I was at the start a hardcore fan of the game (PC with a controller), but after more and more updates, I removed the game (currently still uninstalled).
I'm in no way biased towards any video game/s. I'll play games I find and/ or look fun, but Apex Legends seems like a nightmare to be honest. I get the sense that there's still a huge matchmaking issue with people leaving after going down. If that issue isn't addressed, the core gameplay will already suffer. No map update will ever fix that.
A side note, Why in the world doesn't Apex Legends have a team deathmatch, conquest and/ or even a MOBA mode? Why is no one pushing the game to its strengths.
Deathmatch mode where each section of the map is made into a single map. What about Escape from Kings Canyon mode like escape from Tarkov, like come on respawn, No creativity.
Add destruction Like Battlefield had 7 years ago. 2021 and your updates are "We removed a building" LOL
