No, I've got multiple instances where the traps are inconsistent I can pre drop traps and people are walking right into them and nothing happens. Then I can drop traps on a forklift in the middle of a fight and they will miraculously detonate after multiple games of someone doing their drum cover of a Cattle Decapitation song on a series of gas traps. If I shoot enemy traps I detonate them and enemies are shooting mine like they're clay pigeons.
MIRAGE DUPLICATES trigger traps before the Mirage does FFS...
I got heaps of videos, getting shot through obviously closed doors, getting head glitched well behind cover, wall banged and blatant cheaters/exploiters that never caught a ban because they're whales and give heaps of their duckets to Respawn. So when the time is right, I will likely call down the ire of another apologist Respawn dev willing to double down on their strawman rhetoric while they try to explain away game breaking issues with video proof. Apex used to be fun. Now it's like preparing to get root canals.
Now I know how Pathfinder mains felt when they nerfed his grapple, except they didn't promise to buff him and then purposely BREAK him after rescinding on their word
FINAL word on the issue - Don't count on gas for ANYTHING. Respawn has now made Caustic inconsistent and unreliable. Time to grow up and play a game that actually consistently works
