It’s a mix of both solo queue and with my friends. My friends are in the same boat. We do well in ranked up until Masters where we just get stomped. So we play pubs but run into the same thing (lobbies that are 80% master/pred).
Idk, the whole system is just disenchanting. It’s mind boggling that someone can be in the top 5% regarding skill yet lose MORE than someone in the bottom 50%.
I often pose this question to people and they end up struggling with the implications of the answer:
Who should win more overall (pubs + ranked):
A) Skilled players should win more overall.
B) All players should win at similar ratios, because all players should only ever be playing people at their skill level.

Er, first world/guud player problems?
First off, yes, you should quit however many games you want without doing it so much you get banned. Which really only applies to ranked anyway. With your experience, I think you actually know this.
Second, yes, the problem really is your skill level and how the match making system perceives your skill. Which means I kind of doubt you're going to get what you want. A Masters player, even one who can't climb to pred, is so much better than most of the game population, even if it gets mixed up I doubt you'll end up in a lot of satisfying games . There could be some sort of special beneficial system meant to cycle high skill players together even in pubs, but I also doubt Apex will be looking to do more programming work to come up with a solution for this.
This is why I don't think pubs should have any sbmm whatsoever. Sure, you might be outmatched or outplay your opponents most games, but it is a Battle Royal. Take your lumps and learn. And...every now and then you'll end up with a game satisfying enough to keep you going.

@hayhor
I’m going to use rough estimates because I don’t have the exact numbers.
When I solo queue:
Scenario A) About 70% of the time I get very very low teammates. These lobbies still have plenty of other Master/Pred players, but I would say that they are only about 40% of the lobby.
Scenario B) About 30% of the time, I am given two strong teammates but these lobbies are almost always 80-90% Master/Pred. It feels like I am playing in a lobby that’s full of premade squads.
Neither of these scenarios are pleasant, lol. Scenario A in particular must be super frustrating for the lower level players, as they almost always get melted by the many Masters in the lobby.
So ultimately I just try to queue with my friends— which exclusively drops me in lobbies that look like scenario B.- hayhor5 years agoHero@Axs5626Sxa5001 Ok thanks. So your sbmm also punishes you for having friends like it does me.
