@DarthValtrex Yeah but if you have thousands of people who demote, it only takes one game by each to ruin it for newer players.
I myself am an example. I barely play ranked so sometimes I get demoted all the way back to bronze. While it doesnt take me long to move back into platinum it isnt fair for me to be in bronze and silver lobbies. You should not be allowed to demote 1.5 tiers overall, no matter what the rank is.

@hayhor They could just reset the RP without the tier demotion.. Basically season resets the RP but you're still in the lobbies you were in as last split. That would fix this easily.
