Snipers just need higher bullet velocity, I rock the triple take because is has a fast af shot speed and the havoc is pretty good for that too. I like the longbow but the shots are too slow, needs faster shots or higher damage.
Snipers are simply very situational, and when you decide to carry one you definitely need to carefully pick your 2nd weapon.
In a 3-man squad, a sniper can be useful to apply pressure and lock down a team to a specific building, allowing the rest of your team to push them into a corner and take the upperhand.
As the Bangalore boasted so excellently earlier, you can trigger her smoke, revealing her location quite quickly, allowing your team to pinpoint her location, and chuck a grenade-rain in there. Should she decide to run, you have another few shots lined up.
However, you need to make a difficult decision that prevents you from either sitting still too long, and switch your weapon for close range to join your team. You need to weigh the positives and negatives quickly of giving up your overwatch position.I've never one tapped or been one tapped by a shotty, but they should be devastating when in barrel stuffing range.
The one tap kill on max kit is exaggerated imo. I've managed to back off shotty users and spray them down.
To much gung-ho face tanking that I see in my games.Edit#: In reference to gun balance. In this type of game, you do need guns that are better than others. That makes the early game looting all the more interesting. You need the bad guns as well as the good.
You will never ever have perfect balance. Some guns could use a little help (mosam shotty) but you don't want them all on the same level. We need variety and guns with identity.
I agree that sniping is basically useless in Apex, which is a shame as some of the snipers are actually pretty good guns. But there is too much mobility and healing for snipers to really be effective, outside of the Kraber with 1 shot potential. I actually go into this a bit more, along with the rest of the guns, in this post
I disagree with the "need for bad guns" obviously guns cant all be the same strength but some guns can be considered too bad to be in the game. On the flip side some being too good in every situation 'cough' wingman 'cough'
- The wingman is only good in every situation if you are good with it. Most of my squad passes it up as they just are not effective with it.
I would say the spitfire would be the all around best gun for every situation as anyone can pick that up slap an purp entended on it and just spray for days. You don't need to have great shooting skills and timing to run it like the wingman.

R-99's, Devotions, R-301's,...every gun can be used to snipe. This game desperately needs recoil.
I'm glad this game isn't full of hiding snipers one tapping people from across the map.
They are perfectly viable if you choose your moments (squads already fighting can be picked at long range but it's still an art to hit a moving target, and very gratifying when it's pulled off).
Snipers can quite easliy become OP and the meta, which is not healthy for the game imo.
This game has the most obvious weapon imbalances possibly ever. I’ve never seen so many top twitch players change loadouts over boredom.
Nerf wingman and peacekeeper. Buff other guns that obviously need it.
R99 and r301 are fine on that note.
hell I almost thought of going back to blackout today....
@HamoHitman wrote:I completely agree...I don't personally feel any weapon should be 1 tap...but seems like alot of ppl are for some reason ok with a shotty being 2 tap body with MAX KIT. if this is the case the game will soon turn into a pile of shotty crap just like fortnite.
That’s why they won’t do proper weapon balance they need to steal fortnite kiddos....
you must think your crazy lmao stfu
