So are we all free to cheat?

I recorded a guy tracking players through walls and sent it in but that player continues to end up in my ranked lobbies. They're level 18 with 250+ kills. They're not even clever about it, they will beeline to any enemy squad and will keep their eye on them the whole time through the wall. Their name even indicates that they're using ESP--but they haven't had anything done against them. I'm tired of running into the same cheaters day after day like this.

So it got me wondering... does it really not matter if a player is cheating so long as they're only using ESP regardless of how blatant they are? Are we all free to cheat in Apex if we only use walls?
I feel like the official answer would be 'no' but what gets said vs what actually gets done seem to stand in stark contrast to each other.

You're correct, our answer is no! Wall hacks are cheating. Noone's free to use them and I don't advise doing it unless you're prepared for an account ban.

I get that seeing someone you've reported still in-game can be disheartening. Please know that reports on cheaters and cheating are reviewed and handled accordingly but it's not as cut and dry as you'd imagine. Nothing ever is. There's a lot that goes into the process that takes place once a report is received. We can't go into the specifics as that information can be misused by less-well intentioned players but trust that sending in reports help the team to tackle cheating in-game.

If you're seeing other players using those or any other cheating methods, you can continue to help us tackle cheating by sending in a report through the official channels. For Apex, the Anti cheat report survey can be found here (and for other EA games, this EA Help article will have more information "Report players for cheating, abuse, and harassment"). The teams who look into the reports will investigate internally and take it from there.

@xTomboyRespecter thats why this game cant grow up form bad server to bad team balance and above that's there hax (a lot have stupid name like headshotbambam) with boring player-base (get tired of runnig across of map to see one player)

@xTomboyRespecter I'm pretty sure the official stance is don't cheat. But no one really seems to bat an eye at macros and the like reducing recoil for people. As always, anything regarding Apex Legends takes a while to address, and in this case is no different, especially since Respawn doesn't really control what goes on with EAC.
Fixes regarding cheaters are coming, supposedly, just as with anything it's going to take a really long time. They can't really talk about it either cause if they say, "Hey this is what we're doing" then the people who make said cheats are going to immediately make a work around for it.

@xTomboyRespecter I saw that some girl streamed with aimbot and wallhacks for like 5 hrs before getting banned.

@hhnbbfggty66 They issue HWID (hardware ID) bans. Which I believe is a tad more difficult to spoof than the MAC address.

I agree i feel like everybody can just cheat. There is a level 500 wraith we was spectating after they wiped my whole squad with wingman headshots. The wraith was using silent aim and teabagging everybody she killed. I really don't think this game will ever reach its full potential until they really nail down the anti cheat system and I understand there is a lot of work that goes into trying to stop them but at the end of the day cheaters will always find some way to cheat.
