Stop trolling and being inconsiderate Recon. Especially when the seasonal update caters to your side. That's not fair.
You want to convince comp players that the POI Draft is bad when it wasn't our ideal. The devs and pro community came together on this feature because it improves competitive integrity. So if the POI Draft is so bad then why is it the nucleus of the ALGS. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

I'm not trolling. See previous post. Yes, I'm being a little harsh here and there. But I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I'm laying out why I think fixed drops were bad in principle. And I have yet to hear anyone explain to me why ALGS adopted the feature in the first place, except one guy a few weeks ago who said something along the lines that, in pro play there's too much at stake to risk being crashed by another squad on drop. Obviously, me being me, I disagreed. Not with the truth of the answer, just with the premise behind it. Nevertheless, it was an answer. And I appreciated it.
And I will still say that what makes for "improved competitive integrity" is very much up for debate. That's why this subject is worth talking about. That's why no one who advocates for fixed drops should just let this all go. Sadly/thankfully the ultimate decision isn't up to you or me, but what we have to say about it here on these pages does get seen. That's why I put my thoughts out there. And I will cheer on anyone else who has an opinion and something to say about it, whether they agree with me or not. Obviously for me it's more helpful if people explain the whys and wherefores of their thinking, if they're willing, but either way: opinions should be heard.
Recon... You know we debated this last year already. EA Mako was apart of that discussion.
I'm not discussing the benefits of dropzones anymore. We've already played Ranked with both setups. The verdict is in. You all are choosing the toxic path. Plain and simple.
What you super casual players need to understand is that EVERYONE wants to enjoy free-will. We all want to drop hot and slay. The difference between super casuals vs casual competitive players is that casual comp players want structure. It's not that we're against free-will. We're against a system that doesn't produce "competitive results" for a ranked mode. Your side doesn't give a crap about competitive results. Your side just cries foul because y'all feel like your right to be "uncooperative" is being taken away. So the real question is, "Why are y'all so adamant about sabotaging Ranked?". To feed your overwhelming and narcissistic egos, that's most likely why.
Some comp players want dropzones in Pubs and I'm against that. Let pubs be pubs and let ranked be ranked. What's wrong with that? Why does every game mode need to be the same?
I'm all about diversity. Period.
This is exactly it. Like the people crying about 'free will' you have that more than anything in pre determined pois.
- go loot your gun and run next door to get your bloodthirst.
- go loot and look for rotation
- go loot and run around the poi for 3 minutes to see what loot bin hasn't been opened yet.
Or you get what you have now.
- drop hot af and be one of 3 teams out of the first poi.
- don't play the game and end up in 2nd / 3rd place in round 2 because you didn't drop in the vicinity of 18 other squads
I see no free will in that second option.
if anything this is a VERY BAD idea but if they like their drop ship... at least have 3 separate drop ships on 3 different angles so you have 3 different pois that are hotly contested and well we still have the winner of every drop ship but hey... I don't know maybe more of a chance to spread out ><. Either way bring back the pre determined pois. There is more free will in that than your dropship now.
If you want to be a monkey let outta the zoo go pay wild card... go play trios... ranked is for people that want a somewhat structured experience where they can grow and learn from different situations... NOT have to a) go fight 10 squads sub 1 minute in or b) see no one until round 2 with 5 squads left. It creates no fun, no growth, and just stale experience. Go play trios your drop monkeys
Multiple dropships will not stop players from straying. It won't work.
For example, the devs had to lower the dropships for the dropzone setup because players were flying to other POIs.
Anything that caters to players being able to troll won't work. At this point, we're all trolls. What color is your hair? Mine is green, with yellow highlights. Now let's jump up and down in unison and make funny noises. Ranked is fun!!!! 😂
