No doubt, EA is a huge part of the problem. I can't say enough bad things about them. Six years of shoddy "small m" maintenance and absolutely zero "big R" roadmapping for how to evolve the game without damaging the core, or how to mount an effective resistance to the cheat industry. I left Halo after 18 years because the game was going nowhere and yet also evolving into something that only a twitchy teenaged methhead could play well. EA's done it in six years. Any day one player would be horrified by all the ways that gimmick motion mechanics have come to dominate the game. Any day one player would be horrified at how a legit season three master would be lucky now to make it out of platinum, choked by cheaters as the higher ranks now are.
Segregate PC lobbies from console lobbies.
Implement three factor authentication for every account.
These two things would solve almost every major problem this game faces right now. Then maybe they could stop trying to distract us with ASH.
