Yes I agree with the statistics. People are going to whine "But that is only the 2% that play on Steam!" or "Steam is for those Linux neckbeards!"... etc. However here is something the nay-sayers should be aware of; Television Networks have used the Nielsen rating system by Nielsen Media Research to know how shows perform. They sampled a small percentage of various groups by placing a box on the TV to collect the data. The idea of this system is taking a random handful to get a pretty good idea where the entire group stands.
I myself stopped back 2 seasons ago and skipped playing the last 2 seasons. The main reason was I don't like to be tied to a PC game in the summer time. The other reasons were nothing really "new" was present, the battle pass didn't offer anything I desired, and my friend I played with on a regular basis went to University of Michigan. When I returned in the fall (Revenant upgrade season) there wasn't much different. I took that season off as well. My point is, players come and go for a wide variety of reasons. These online games always lose players over time. The less the game changes the more mundane and repetitive it becomes. Human mind wants to gravitate for the new. Finally when something ends, many people (even the ones no longer playing) exclaim, "Did you hear game X shut down the servers? It is so unfair! I spent a lot of money playing game X and now it is just gone!".
To be honest, this season lacks luster, but I noticed they made map changes to Storm Point. I hope they eventual add more bells and whistles to Broken Moon. Olympus is always fun in my opinion. I think they should rotate all the maps in their library (not just 3) and make the time 45 minutes each. I normally last 15 minutes on the map placing in the final 5 teams. This would have me average 3 rounds on the same map. However you could end up playing over a dozen times, if you like to hot drop.
As for the console stats for PS/XB my friend at U of M might know. I will call him up tonight.

My friend said this is a tracker using PSN data.
https://ps-timetracker.com/statistic/last-30-days
It shows Apex at 10th place and that is down from 7th in November. However the number of players increased from 579 to 639. These stats are for ALL PS platforms in general but I assume the game is only available on the PS4?
