The developers are going to announce something about cross progression?!

Okay so like 5 minutes ago I told you about my excitement for cross play, but something even bigger just caught my attention.

So while I was skimming the cross-play article at playapex.com, I saw something very interesting about CROSS PROGRESSION.

- Cross play does not mean cross progression. While we believe it's valuable, it is currently not available in Apex Legends. However we will talk more about it when the game launches for Steam.

This clearly means the developers are going to give a final, definitive, yes or no response to cross progression when Apex Legends comes to Steam later this year. It's also important to note that they haven't mentioned whether it is a possibility or not. So right now I genuinely think it's 50/50 on whether they say yes or no at the announcement.

    @CompleatBeet They already said they are going to allow something on pc between origin and steam. I assume ps4 to ps5 and xbox one to whatever the new one is will also allow a transfer.

    As for the rest who knows.

    If you scroll down a bit, you'll see this:

    • Cross-play does not mean cross-progression. While we do believe this is a valuable feature, it’s unfortunately not available for Apex Legends at this time. However, we will talk more about this at our Steam launch later in the year.

    I was pretty lazy and couldn't put the link in the original post, but here it is.

    As you can see the developers have stated that they do see it as an important feature and the biggest part is "However, we will talk more about this at our Steam launch later in the year."

    It could be referring to Origin/Steam cross progression which we already know is coming or next-gen console plans however the fact they put information in the statement about cross progression makes it unlikely.

    We'll just have to wait for the Steam release.
