The developers have completely screwed over the average controller player

By raising the activation threshold so high, Respawn didn't just tweak aim assist—they effectively severed the connection between a controller player's physical input and the game's registration system.

When you break down exactly what's going on the physics of the new system it's so bad.

  • The Recoil Control Trap: Controlling recoil requires tiny, precise downward micro-pulses on the right stick. Because those movements are now below the game's new activation threshold, the game registers them as dead air. The moment you pull down just a millimeter too far to force a reaction, you cross the threshold, the game overcompensates, and your crosshair flies completely off the target. You literally cannot fine-tune a spray pattern anymore.
  • The Death of Target Switching: Flicking or switching from target to target requires a fast, macro-movement followed by an instantaneous micro-deceleration to "catch" the next target. Because the micro-adjustment phase is no longer recognized by the aim assist bubble, you seamlessly blast right past the second target without the game ever registering that you were trying to slow down and lock on.
  • The Reactivity Paradox: Apex is a game defined by instantaneous, erratic player movement (tap-strafing, mantle-jumping, rapid directional shifts). Human reaction time requires micro-corrections to track those shifts. By making micro-adjustments impossible to register, Respawn essentially stripped away a controller player's ability to react to movement at all.

They implemented a blanket software fix to stop a specific hardware cheat, and in doing so, they broke the baseline functionality of how a controller is supposed to interface with a first-person shooter. It feels terrible because the game is actively fighting your physical inputs.

  • . Fyi to anybody wondering why you're getting no aim registration on a controller anytime you make any form of micro adjustment to track flick or switch or to control recoil patterns. Thank the stupid developers of this game.

Rather than targeting the actual software that allows the pro players to use jitter instead, they changed it to where any small micro adjustment made no longer registers that affects three things

It affects recoil patterns and how well you're able to control recoil patterns on a controller because you have to make micro adjustments.

This game is made off of micro adjustments so changing how amosis registers when making micro adjustments was the stupidest decision and it broke the game.

It affects advanced look controls and how well you can customize your sensitivity because my sensitivity is entirely customized to my personal benefit for tracking flicking and switching and making micro adjustments.

But now any micro adjustment that I make let's say I want to flick just a tiny bit and I need to make a tiny micro adjustment to flick back onto a Target. I basically now have to long press or long flick thereby overflicking past the target. Before any rotational aim assist gets registered.

IT ALSO AFFECTS HOW WELL YOU'RE ABLE TO REACT TO PLAYER MOVEMENT. BECAUSE NOW YOU ARE UNABLE TO MAKE A SMALL MICRO ADJUSTMENT BECAUSE NOW YOU HAVE TO RE-LONG PRESS YOUR STICK IN ORDER TO GET ANY AIM REGISTRATION OR ROTATIONAL AIM ASSIST.

Please revert this change. I understand that you're trying to prevent bad actors and pro players from being able to use the jitter macro that comes with certain controllers.

But I do not understand why you're purposely destroying this game in order to do that. YOU COMPLETELY BROKE AIM REGISTRATION IN THIS GAME. TRACKING FLICKING AND SWITCHING IS NO LONGER REMOTELY VIABLE OR POSSIBLE ON A CONTROLLER.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD REVERT THIS CHANGE.

Come on developers. Do better. You cannot be this stupid.

  • Yup, I've been playing this game for 7 years on console... and now since they nerfed the aim assist to 0.3 and are fiddling with the US West server... I can't track anyone anymore. Its literally impossible. Either the reticle won't move at all when using slight pressure, or it either takes off and goes so far past what i am trying to do.... there is NO in-between anymore. Its completely fu**ed!

Clearly they can be that stupid.

They completely screwed over non-cheating causal console players!!!!

I'm aware if you can spread this and share this forum with anybody that you know and get them to come here. And like this and bring enough attention to the developers. That'd be great.

We need as many players to speak out against this as we can possibly get.

Since there is no way to measure specific numerical data, I am not familiar with the technical details.

However, I feel a sense of unfairness regarding the recent push to actively merge console players into PC servers in specific regional servers. There are differences in frame rates and response times between PC and console.

When implementing crossplay, I believe the frame rate on the PC side should be capped to match the maximum limit of the console side.
