Also we will be providing an API for people to use it too.
Are you permitted to display this information by the publisher and developers?
How did you obtain this information?
Why is my information on there?
Are you aware of the privacy laws?
I don't want my personal details to be public.
Also how come it displays the last played legend as an overall indicator for my performances? And how can you determine skill based on kills to level ratio?
Upon viewing my profile the adjacent Legend was Gibraltar my least played legend determining my skill would be 0.70.
Seems awfully inaccurate and a pointless thing to add to the overall UI, unless you're adding up all legend kills.
- 6 years ago@MartenPhilip is it ur first ea game? Bf has this for stats years now. However if u dont like it user share data is on settings. Turn it off if u dont want 3rd party apps use these stats.

I don't mind the direct company having my details.
But a 3rd party? not so fond of. - 6 years ago
Where is this information being obtained? I don't see where this data could possibly be scraped from. There's another Apex Legends stats tracker and I don't get how it works either, although to be fair it looks like the way it works is very roundabout and rigged up, but I still don't get where the actual information is stored on the world wide web for anyone to scrape it. The only way to see one's stats is in-game menus. What else is there?

I would imagine this is coming from an unofficial Origin API. Last I can recall, EA has not released a public-facing Origin API but I think there are 3rd party solutions that will grab Origin profile information. There is likely a way to obtain game specific information from there.
Just a guess, though.

LOL
Sounds like you have no idea how game API's work. Every online game you play, a third party site can access the stats and display them.

@SaltyBulldog23
Do I have to?
The current rating system is a joke anyway.
Besides that, if a person requests that his or her personal information gets removed the involved parties are inclined to comply as stated in the new privacy law.
I just find it weird that 3rd parties have full access to player data.
That's just my opinion.- 6 years ago
Player stats don't really constitute personal/private information.. Nothing that is shown can be used maliciously, and is basically public information. Once Respawn has a working API for sites to access, there will be more than just kills and level available. Most multiplayer games have APIs that display these types of stats, they don't need your permission. It's not something that should require permission in the first place.

Ok so you are worried about your privacy?
Well the pulling of stats through API isn't a privacy issue, as no "private" data is obtained (unless you're one of these idiots, that uses their fullname as there GT).
When you sign up to companies such as EA, they have a bit of information called "privacy" and can be read here. You agreed to those "privacy" rules, the moment you accepted the terms and conditions of accessing the game and as such you confirmed your allowance for them to use that data in accordance with their "Privacy" policies. They are not breaking any laws and you will find they are 100% compliant with both International and EU law on privacy data.
Your personal data is not displayed, nor is it used by third parties of the company you gave the data to in the first place.
So no need to worry about private data.
As for "ApexTab" being a reliable source for stats, it is currently useless and does not update with the correct information. I've found apex.tracker is more accurate. - 4 years ago@MartenPhilip Get a life
