I just finished a match where I encountered my first Axle in the wild. Ridiculous. I know one match doesn't tell the whole story, but I'd also be lying if I said I didn't already know all I need to know about her. If nothing else her introduction has cemented my conviction that there is nothing left for me in this game except bots, and while that mode continues to be polluted with live players I can't really call it much of anything left. Depressing.
And not to sound wise after the fact, but I said seasons ago after the speed boost was added to Wildcard: Speed is the future of this game. As goes Wildcard, so goes Apex. And here we are. Terrible decision. For all the reasons you so eloquently laid out.
I continue to be completely and utterly shocked when squadmates choose Lifeline or Gibby. Why would anyone play a legend with no mobility? It was true since day one and now it's a hundred times more true.
Oh, and let me throw this one out there too: respawning at the deathbox is yet another serious devaluation of a kill. Is this supposed to be Halo team slayer or a true elimination game type? Respawn, if you want to make the Knockout mechanics a permanent part of the entire game then so be it. But this endless inching up on free and unlimited respawns without ever actually getting there is excruciating. I will give you some credit for making them harder as the match wears on, but it's still just another get-out-of-jail-free card. In a game that has so many of them at this point that I've lost count.
