The Mute Button

At the start of any game that I start, I press the Mute button that pops up. But a few times I forget it. So when I finally get around to forgetting about it, one or some teammates say a few words with huge significance for my mood that day. And I just can't shake that. I think things should be changed, so that if you press the Mute button, you don't have to see what people write in the chat either. Because strangely enough, you can still see what people write in the chat after you have pressed the button. I don't want to debate that it is a team player game or how the community works. I just want to play the game. Too many times I have become angry that I can hear what people write or say. So I got banned here today because of my behavior, or bad behavior. I confirm that this is also my own fault. But I also think it's not just me, since I obviously can't permanently mute people, and have to listen to their rude questions or mean comments in the chat. Please change it. It really makes me angry to listen to what they say after a whole day's work. I have an incredibly bad experience with it. I love the game. But for God's sake. Fix it

Make it a Switch On/Off button. Or put it in settings. Something that works

Im sorry to hear that you got banned. I understand how you feel about the chat. I have both spoken and text chat muted, so its possible to permantly mute, at least, on an xbox 1S.

My sound comes from tv speakers and I've no mic.

There are settings not just to mute voice but to block text as well. Use them liberally. There are situations where comms would be nice, but you won't know which they are until it's too late so just keep everything muted and do the best you can with pings. They really do go a long way.

I tell everyone this and I’m being genuine I’m not being a troll if you can’t handle yourself emotionally on an online multiplayer game even if it’s for one second or somebody typing 18 states away, you should work on yourself not the mute button yes, people are jerks, but it’s been like that since modern warfare one

  • @EPS1234 im old enough to be well able to handle myself, believe me. I just dont give silly toxic childish nonsence any airtime in my life.

This is the way of the ping 🙌

  • @EPS1234 Yes its usually your own fault you get abused on the internet. Better to man up... You are joking right?
Do a quick google search on Reckful and come back here to tell again why is it okay to say whatever you want on anyone you come across.
Thats right, you never know what the other person is going through.

Yes people are jerks, and for me its been like that since first FPS shooters in early 2000s.
Still thats no excuse for it.

I have incoming voice volume set to 1% and voice to txt on and absolutely love when some grown adult man goes off rails on voice chat thinking they are getting away with it.
Reporting them with a big smile on my face.
Then they come here to this forum and always cry about being banned for absolutely no reason at all and how they lost 4 million dollar account with 30 000 hours.
Thats how I handle myself emotionally on an online multiplayer game. You too might change your perspective one day when you have kids of your own playing games.
