I think it comes down to personal preference, some people are good at using certain weapons. I don't think any GUN is op, it's the person using the weapon that makes them good.
For me In every FPS I always use pistols because that's what I'm good at.
So despite the fact that the Hammerpoint hop up was removed, im still using my favorite gun, the P2020. (in arenas its free!💛)
I completely disagree. The peacekeeper feels great right now. I’ve grown so tired of fighting spitfires and mastiffs, a gun that can devastate, that requires skill to use, is exactly what we needed and what many of us wanted. It’s significantly weaker with the stats they gave it compared to carepack PK, and like stated earlier, has its pros and * versus the other shotguns. I’ll be honest, any claim that the PK is OP right now is pretty far fetched when the loot pull is littered with guns far superior that require 0 skill to use(see spitfire, volt, r301, bocek)
the peacekeepers is just the most satisfying shotgun to use, and I suspect that’s why you’re seeing it, not because it’s “OP” Something about the sound of the shot when you crack someone and down them simultaneously it’s just music to my ears.....
it doesn’t need a nerf, it just needs appreciated.
Yeah it doesn't make sense that they nerfed the mastiff but put a care package shotgun into regular loot

As people have pointed out its not the weapon its the user, same with legends, people always talk about which legends are OP but imo they all have their strengths IF they are used in conjunction with their squad to compliment each other. The problem with random squads is that people are too selfish to look at squad choices and pick something useful, they just main their fav, hotdrop fragment and die (i sometimes wonder if im the only person that wants to win).
The "no skill" spitfire is perfect for keeping enemy at bay to combat the shotties when you know they are just itching to jump into your skin to get close enough to use them.
Shotties for me are annoyingly random and show how bad the hit reg can be sometimes, even when it looks like your landing perfect shots the damage is all over the place.
All I see nowadays are Spitfire+Bow combo, honestly. Also it all depends I still hit better with Mastiff than PK. Not used to it yet.
- @WreckingVi I see this combo a lot too. Bow is the weapon that is seriously OP right now. In a whisper you will have your shields broken or get knocked. It's as bad as Charge Rifle when that gun was first put in the game.
Also, I've been dropping the PK for the Eva and even the Bique. Mastiff feels stronger too. Like I said in a previous post, PK for me is back to the inconsistent early days of too often hitting for 20 dmg at point blank range. I walk right in on people, blast them in the face with the PK, and I might as well have used a hair dryer instead. All it does is blow their hair back for them, and they light me up lol!!! - Vdstrk4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@dougieee
I feel like you have a very valid point, worth taking into account for sure.
I agree that the user makes a huge difference, and that small imbalances in weapons are meaningless passed a certain level of skill.
I mainly soloq and I can relate to the frustration it causes for the reasons you mentioned.
I, however, am convinced that the PK as it is belongs to the care package, because as a secondary weapon for example it does take away the possibility to fight back, when it does over 100 damage per shot.I say secondary weapon and I mean a follow up weapon. It changes the timing of pushes in the game --say I damage an enemy with a level 3 shield for 91, then I push while switching to the pk -- at that point dealing 109 damage the gun is a one shot deal.
Sure, other guns would do the same, but the timing of it is higher, because instead of 91 damage, a player would need to do 120 to have a one shot deal with the mastiff, and 140 to hae a one shot deal with the Eva-8. This issue is exacerbated when a soloq random team with no comms meets a coordinated pre made.
@hayhor I have used the EVA now and agree, it's the best shotgun in the game, 'specially if you can get a bolt.
Mastiff was once great, it no longer is imo. And the Peacekeeper is okay.
On average, I'd still prefer a good smg or lmg (Spitfire, obviously is good, but the LStar is still under appreciated...I pass on the devo), also a good flatline, but I will pack that EVA if I can't get another short range weapon.
- @KelRiever The other day I went for the Lstar over the alternator in round 1 and 2 of arenas and my word what a difference. I had so much success I'm going to try to run the lstar as my secondary.
