How can playing lobbies knowing the instant you go in the odds give 40 guys you kill easy 10 you will have a fair fight with and 10 you already know beat you be a good thing?SBMM gives you a chance of facing 40 fair fights and maybe 10 each slightly better worse players, to me that sounds and plays out way better than the mismatched games you complainers go about just so you can hopefully bump into a team that first played a shooting game yesterday to kill and boost your ego for 10 mins till getting wrecked off a similar or better ranked player.The system is fair, deal with it.

Now I don't have a problem playing with randoms and have had some decent games, most of them however start the same way, legend select, then we get to the loadout screen and 1 teammate is level 20 and another is level 50. This is common almost every game i play. Go to champion screen and there is a full squad of 4k kill badge and 20 kills in a game. We land and my teammates are down within seconds of landing. Or we gear up and first enemy group we run into they charge into and die quickly. Thus leaving me to 1 v 3, this is the normal scenario I see. What I see as broken is being put into lobbies where from the get go I am going to be 1 v 3 on teams at my skill level or better and having to sweat every game. Casual used to be casual now it is every game played in casual is a tense situation from landing, btw I solo launch every game now due to JM putting teams into the mountain side. And seriously if you are below level 50 your only reason to land trainyard is to give xp and kills to some other noob. The net effect of this shift in how the skill based matchmaking whether it is working or not is my KD has dropped significantly, by an average of 1 in the past few weeks going into random games only. I was expecting it to drop of course, but when game after game you are facing down equally skilled or better players and are lugging along with people who just started playing the game that is frustrating.Let me be clear I am no Apex god, I play to have fun and get some kills and some wins. So far this season I am siting at 200 wins and I would like to see more, but they are becoming harder and harder to come by, since i am usually solo after the first 5 minutes of every game anyways.My rant is over if SBMM is going to stay then solos should as well, at least level the playing field for those of us who have to solo cue anyways, 1 v 3 is getting really old.

This is a competitive pvp game, matches should be sweaty. No matter how good you are, you shouldn't just be able to mow down everyone you see while chilling. If high skill players have the time to play to reach that level of skill, let them play against everyone else who does that. Low skill vs low skill is never going to be sweaty, if you enjoy playing a game and want to get better you never think "oh man I hope I'm going to fight only noobs" no, you just hope you don't get into lobbies with people who play 4x more in a single day than you do 7/7 days a week when you can play only 4/7.It's only the top tier players who won't have as amazing content to brag about that ever complain about sbmm. All this considering there is a proper, unexploitable sbmm in place. A badly implemented sbmm, such as level based mm completely messes everything up. Then a streamer or content creator just makes a new account and dominates everyone, yet again, destroying the chances of normal players to learn the game. The smurf will only ever worry about people of the same skill, never higher, while new players worry about people with much, much more skill than them, only due to time spent playing video games, not actual talent.

I think quite obviously with SBMM it's only really working if you're being placed in lobbies with people that have similar skill level. For the last week or so I've been put into lobbies with players far beyond my own skill level. There is at least one Predator usually and a dozen or so Diamond players. I don't know what the actual ratio of players is in the game but I feel like there have to be more average players out there, they can't simply be scraping the barrel and coming up with Apex Predators?On the other hand, it has pushed me to play more ranked, and even in Platinum the difference in average player skill is noticeably apparent! We need a skill based matchmaking system that not only takes in player skill but also team skill as a whole. The real problem with SBMM isn't coming across the occasional Predator player but more coming across a team of high rank players that are organised and reap death wherever they go. For an average player it's just an absolute game over from the moment they spot you.

@highOctane91prem A 1.5kd player is decent and should face anyone, SBMM is way more simple than you think it doesn't have a load of brackets it's something like very bad, bad, decent (between .8kd and 1.2kd) then the rest get bunched in together, a 1.5kd is top 5 percent or so.

@cr41g1690 1.5KD means you most likely get 2 kills per game thats no where near decent . you need at least 3.5kd or 2.4kd to say you’re decent enough to go nutty in any lobby, Players with 1.5KD most definitely hot drops and get eliminated within first 3 minutes

My own kd is around 1.0 and some games I'd dominate due to terrible players, had 13 kill games had the 2000 damage had the win on every legend, my matchmaking bracket keeps me away from Smurfs they want the noob lobbies and works well.

Actually that's probably fairly accurate.
