There was cheaters, now there are MORE CHEATERS

You are losing people as fast as you are losing money, why would you not fix an issue as big as cheating? Even CoD took care of cronus, you cant even do that, I doubt the developers read this but god damn why do you keep pushing a good dame down with *?

The systems other companies are using to detect cronus is still experimental and will not work 100% guaranteed.

Note that these companies also don't just share their technology, Respawn would have to find out their own way of detecting this stuff and properly actioning it, which can take a lot of time depending on where their priorities are.

Overall the playcount seems stable, so I don't think they're losing players that fast.

As far I've experienced it, the cheating issue hasn't become that much worse.

It's possible that the region you play in have more cheaters, thus increasing the chances of encountering one.

Changing the datacenter you play on may help with avoiding them.

Making an anticheat is hard, cheat developers do also update their stuff after all.

We as players don't really have a way of knowing how many cheaters there are and whether or not the anticheat is working, nor do we know which changes are made to the anticheat.

It's possible that it's working decently fine and that you're just unlucky for encountering so many.

One of the thing that completely baffles is me is why we don't have a raft of third-party companies who specialize in anti-cheat and sell or license their software to the big companies. How is this not a thriving cottage industry?

@reconzero Have you really _seen_ capitalism my friend?

The entire thing is _built_ on cheating.

As far I'm aware, there are plenty of companies like that which exist, though they usually are on the smaller side.

I'd assume that bigger companies typically don't inquire to such smaller companies for security related reasons. (Or because they have their own department in which they put a lot of trust)

EAC used to be like that though, until it got bought by Epic it got a lot more restricted as far I'm aware.

Not really sure how that's going, from what I've heard, not so well.

Though it's entirely possible this might pick up again, as some companies are showing some good developments towards AI anticheats, which probably will become very favorable in the gaming sector.
