They need to over haul the respawn system, it's horrible

It's one of the most frustrating parts of the game. It's why people leave pubs and don't stick around for a respawn. You're going to get killed or pushed almost instantly and you stand no chance.

There have been numerous suggestions as to how to fix this. But I think the best, you are dropped in from a high point so you can fly away and are not stuck on the respawn beacon. It will be up to your teammates to run off.

I think changing this would help with player retention as well. They won't rage quit the game because they got killed two times in a row, once from the initial fight and once from being spawned back into the game.

I think that would be the best solution and actually give the people who spawned back in a chance at surviving for more than a 1 minute after drop.

  • @DarthValtrex Yeah it should just be a straight drop in without the ship, near teammates, like in warzone. Yes people may see you using a beacon and still push but youd still have a better chance than a ship pulling up and then waiting to jump out.

@hayhor That might work, but I also think just flying a similar distance as to what you get from a jump tower would work as well. If you want to land at the spawn point you can, if you want to fly off and meet up with your squad you can..

The system right now makes you a sitting duck with absolutely no chance. The only times they are successful are if your squad mates are having an extremely good round or there is no one in the area which is rare. But it's so rare to pull off.

I think it would help the game out a ton if people could be successfully respawned more frequently.

@DarthValtrex I dont think spawning too far from your team will be a good thing tho. There still should be some strategy in going for a respawn. I get pretty ticked off when someone spawns me in the middle of a fight. If it is with randoms I just leave.

@hayhor I think with the time it takes for the drop ship to come, your teammate can make it fairly far from the beacon. So being able to fly a bit could work. Just communicate where to go either with pings or voice chat. The only down side I see to it is that you'll show a dive trail on where you went.

But the positive side is you can put distance between yourself and the enemies rushing.

Your suggestion works as well. I don't care what they do but the respawn system needs to be improved upon. It's more frustrating than getting caught in caustics gas or horizons ult.

I have mixed feelings about this, but not for the right reasons, because there are other problems with Apex that don't want me to have respawn fixed.  If those other things were changed, then yes I'd agree the system is bad.

Here is the weirdness for me:  In ranked play, an early death might lead to an immediate respawn if my team can win.  But if they can't because there's too much danger, I know it will likely get my team mates killed trying so it will take a whole ton of time and that's provided they do well, which they probably won't with 1 or more of us down. If I stay in the game, tho, it is tempting my mate to make a bad decision.  Even if he doesn't, it will take a lot of time to find a safe respawn and it could get us all killed anyway.

So yes, you guessed it, I leave the game.

This is because first, tier protection lets me and grinding up with the system in place is too hard at a certain point.  So I'm content at staying at my rank.  Second, if I'm out of the game, my team mate won't be tempted to make a bad decision, and particularly if I see he's above rank IV, I don't want him to lose points trying.  He's already down a team member, and he should just try his best to move on.  Third, if I'm down and it's taken a long time to respawn, the penalty is a good break and won't take much longer (and might even be shorter).

Possibly hard logic to follow, and I don't necessarily recommend it for anyone else.  It works for me.

If the ranked system worked better, and the game encouraged more team work among all players (and not just the smart and good ones), then I'd want a better respawn system, yes.

  • There is an actual reward for spawnkilling enemies within 10s after they touch the ground! 😎

  • @DarthValtrex Yup coming form Fortnite and only been playins since season 7 i do not like rewspawning in Apex at all.

Dropping from the sky without a plane would be a improvement.

Or more Fortnite style, you spawn from the beacon but let the beacon make a loud noise and maybe shoot a beam of light in the sky so people in the distance can still see someone was just revived.

Either way the current implementation feels slow and sluggish to the point when you know there are enemies around i actually get anoyyed when being respawned.
  • @DarthValtrexIdk for me personally I feel like if you died then bad luck . you messed up/ got outplayed or lagged out or whatever and died and got lucky enough to have good enough teammates to grab the banner and get you back .

After that it’s your own lookout , rely on teammates fighting off the teams that push and hope you get something to survive with or run as fast as possible and live to fight another day . loot up and somehow win and it’s all the more satisfying haha .

If not then back to the lobby and start again, it’s no issue takes seconds to get back into a match . Or if your teams doing good then watch them get the win .

TLDR ; leave it as is IMO , a second chance is just that.  can’t make it too easy, would be unfair
